Earl Minot of Lew Horton Dist. Passes

His obituary was posted in the Woonsocket Call yesterday. I spoke with him a few times and found him to be a helpful fellow. May he rest in peace.

    Different 10-10

Looked at a 10-10 today with a black finish which was in excellent condition, but the black hammer and trigger threw me off. First thought was that it was reblued but it had a waxy feel, almost like Teflon. It sported what I think were Hogue wood combat grips. I started out thinking I'd pass...

    Sneeze Sheets

I arrived at Fort Gordon GA in Oct. 1968 for BCT. After being herded off the bus and receiving the Welcome to the US Army speech, we entered the barracks and were assigned our respective racks. The top bunk and bottom bunk sleepers had their heads in opposite directions. Between the racks...

    Beta Tester

Yesterday we sent my wife's M&P .380 EZ back to S&W for the recall/upgrade to the thumb safety. It was for her birthday, she's fired 14 trouble free shots, and had it for a week. Two or three weeks according to the telephone representative. Previously I sent two Sig P320s back to Sig for...

    BK Grips

I was looking through my grip adapters and decided that I needed some new ones. I went to the BK website and ordered two black and one white. They arrived two days later and I am happy with the service and product. I'd like to get a few silver color Tyler T grips too, but their mail order...

Model One and a Half, 2nd issue, Screw

I recently purchased a One and a Half tip-up in .32 RF with a broken hinge screw. My gunsmith has successfully removed the screw and searched online for a replacement without any luck. I'm looking for suggestions. Does anyone known the thread? Has anyone made one? I guess that it might be...

    K22 Front Sight Height

I have a 1956 or 57 K22 which the previous owner modified by shortening the front sight. Too short. I found a K38 front sight and fitted it. Too tall. Not wanted to do this again, what's the correct height? The rear sight is about .375 from the base of the sight to the top of the blade.

    Cleveland Area Police Question

In August 2014 I bought a S&W 4516 from Standard Law Enforcement in Willoughby, OH. I read about their availability in the Sig Forum. Supposed to have been tradeins from Eastlake or some city with lake in the name. I have since checked the forum several times but the thread is gone. I called...

    Dillon Square Deal

Last Saturday I broke one of the link arms on my 20 year old Square Deal press. I called on Monday and had two new link arms and brass link arm bearings on Wednesday. My press is back up and making 9mms again. Dillon customer service is excellent.

    Where are they?

On Saturday I went out looking for third gen autos. I visited six gun shops east of I79 and north of I80. There were two pistols, a beat up 6904 Israeli reimport at $379 an a 4046 at $499. I purchased a 4046 with box at the same place some time ago, former police guns would be my guess...

    Question on Number 2

I looked at a model 27 4 inch a week ago in a nearby gunshop. Very nice condition, priced at $675 if I remember correctly. There was a rather large number 2 stamped on the rear of the cylinder. What did it mean?

    Hello from NW PA

I am retired after 33 years total in law enforcement. Also put in 22 in the Guard and USAR. Moved from RI to escape the oppression of the progressives, and aside from the winter, couldn't be happier in PA. I was a range officer for many years and was certified as an armorer at the S&W Academy...
