    Pre-28 Highway Patrolman

I stumbled across this beauty at a Cabella's a while back and got it at a nice price. I don't see a lot of these pre-28 HPs. Serial number S130xxx puts it mid-50s. How scarce and any opinions as to value? I'm not selling but just curious.

    586s are now Pythons??

Wow! I know the "climbing prices" threads get tiresome, but this is crazy! Did anyone see the boxed 4" 586-3 that sold on GB for $2576 ?? Them's Python numbers! I love L-frames as much (or more) than the next guy but DANG! It was offered as unfired NIB and the pictures look like it...

    10 mm Commander - pics

I'm a big fan of the 10 mm round. I have several 5" 1911s in 10mm that are great shooters but always wanted a Commander length model for carry. I've had two of the Dan Wesson bob-tail Commanders and both had similar feeding problems that couldn't be solved with gunsmith tinkering so they were...

FOUND, please close. 4" 686-4 plus

This one may be a long-shot as I don't know how many of these are even out there...I haven't seen many! If anyone has a 4" 686-4 plus (7-shot) model that they would be interested in selling let me know! Not interested in other barrel lengths or engineering changes at this time, and yes I'd...

    3" K-frames

Thanks to jjbrews1 I recently acquired a 3" 65-5 Ladysmith to add to my accumulation. I swapped out the stocks to something a little more shooter-friendly than the factory stocks and lined it up with my other 3" k-frames: 13-2, 65-5 bobbed (it isn't pink!...that's the reflection of my red...

    627 Pictures...lets see em

Recently I found a long-sought 627-0 Model of 1989 (thanks again to Jim). I swapped out the Hogues for an extra pair of Combats I had. This is a very accurate and, I think, beautiful revolver, but it is a HEAVY beast! Here it is with my other 627s A prelock 5" 627-3 PC, and a 2 5/8" 627-5 PC.

    The "81s" - fixed sight L-frame pics

Although never nearly as popular as their adjustable sight brethren, I for one am a big fan of the fixed sight L frames. I just acquired this very nice nickel 581 (center) to go along with my 681 (left) and blue 581 (right). I need to find some better shooting stocks for the nickel 581. Here...

    Matched Nickel and Blue Pics

I've just recently started to accumulate a few nickels to compliment some of my blues. So far I've got a 4" and 5" 27-2. I'll keep my eyes open for nice examples other barrel lengths! Lets see some pics of matched blue and nickel - same model.

    Cabela's Nickel 27-2 find!

I've shown off my collection of blue 27s in the various barrel lengths: I've been thinking about jumping into nickel for a while and a good deal at Cabela's this week prompted me to do so. I picked up this 5" 27-2 with presentation case and papers for $650 + tax. It came with ugly rubbers...

    Question on gold inlay Rollmarks

I recently came across this pretty nice condition shooter grade 2.5" 19-4. Were these gold inlay rollmarks ever factory original, or should I assume aftermarket color-in? If they are not factory original is there a safe and easy way to remove them? I don't really mind them I guess since it is...

    My Newest 41 Mags

I was very fortunate to come across a face-to-face trade with a fellow forum member for these two beauties. Both 4" Model 57s, nickel and blue, both unfired in their complete presentation boxes. I had to give up a couple a pretty nice semi-autos but I'm happy with the deal. I probably won't...

    Refinished 681 PC

I recently started a thread gathering opinions about refinishing a green 681 PC. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/390525-should-i-refinish.html Well, I went ahead and took it in to Robar for their NP3 treatment and I'm pretty happy that I did! Here is the before and a...

Foolishly sold one a few years ago and have regretted it ever since. Love to find another!

    Should I Refinish?

I recently picked up one of the 3" 681 PC revolvers. It has the factory green finish on the frame with the black unfluted cylinder. The finish has moderate wear...say maybe 90-95%. I don't love the green finish to begin with, so since its worn, I'm considering having it redone by Robar with...

FOUND: K/L Round butt target stocks

Looking for a nice pair of factory RB targets for K/L. If you have any you might part with please send pics via PM or e-mail. I would prefer checkered, but would consider a nice smooth pair as well. Posts #9 and #6 in this thread show what I have in mind...

    VZ revolver grips

Don't get me wrong, I'll always prefer beautiful wooden stocks for revolvers, but I liked the VZ grips for semiautos and was curious about their revolver grips so I ordered a couple pairs. I have to admit that I like them for a carry gun. Here they are on a square butt L-frame 686 and a round...

    Any other tortoise owners?

I was out taking a few gun photos this evening and this nosy little devil kept pestering me so I put the macro setting to good use. Coco is a Leopard Tortoise. He is pretty social and ornery. Chases the dogs relentlessly. Humps your foot if you stand still long enough (poor lonely *******)...

    Nice Highway Patrolman at Cabellas

I was in the local Cabella's today and happened upon this nice old fella. SN is S1304xx puts in mid-50s. I was pretty happy to get it for $650 + tax for a 5-screw. Finish is decent. Stocks are in fair to good shape but do not number to the gun unfortunately. About the only negative is it...
