shield 45 or the shield 45 performance center

I am looking to get a shield 45 (as my EDC), but I am jumping back and forth between the standard shield 45 and the shield 45 performance center. Do you guys think that the shield 45 performance center model is worth the addition 100 bucks or so more?

I have been carrying my Shield 45 as my EDC weapon, it have a safety (only one available at the time). I never engage it and drill sweeping the safety down (with my thumb) when I draw. I have been told to glue the safety down in the un-engage position just to be sure. What do you guys...

My question is have anyone had their Shield’s slide safety engaging by accident.

My question is have anyone had their Shield’s slide safety engaging by accident. I have one of the first Shields in 9mm, it has the slide safety, it is a great EDC (except when I am carrying a 642 in my front pocket). The slide safety is a concern (what if it get put on by accident?). Would...

Shield 45 ACP THUMB SAFETY question

I got an S&W shield in 45 ACP, great pistol, but there is one thing about it that I don’t like- THE THUMB SAFETY. Can it be disabled-or would a drop of gorilla glue do the job? I know that people say not to worry about it, but for my peace of mind, it need to go away.

9mm vs 45 ACP in a Shield single stack EDC pistol

I know that some people need to carry an EDC pistol which carries 15 or more round, but for me, I just can’t carry a brick very long. I like the S&W Shield single stack for a pistol which I would carry every day. I am OK w/ a 7 or 8 round pistol. Saying that, with the same number of rounds...

Have anyone else had this problem, with the Shield 45?

Have anyone else had this problem, with the Shield 45? I have run approx. 600 rounds thru my shield 45 and after a trip to the range, I was cleaning it, and found that the recoil spring assembly just barely extend long enough to engage the barrel lug, and upon Disassembly, the recoil spring...

The shield 45 is a great CCW, but not for me.

The shield 45 is a great CCW, but not for me. I have a shield 9 which have given me great service for the past three years, but when the 45 came out I had to get one. Well I got one and broke it in with 200 rounds without any problems (I suggest that everyone should be sure that any new pistol...

Which self-defense ammo is best in the short barrel Shield 45 ?

Today at the coffee shop, we had a discussion on the best 45 carry ammo, and I hear everything from regular pressure to +P and bullet weight from 185 to the full boat 230 grain. Now we are NOT talking about a full size 1911, but a shield 45 with a 3.3” barrel. In your opinion, what is the best...

I picked up my S&W Shield in 45acp.

This morning, I was able to pick up an S&W Shield in 45acp (the first ones I have seen). I have been carrying a Glock 36 in an IWB holster for almost 4 years and have had no issues with it, except for its width. I like the 45acp for CCW, but the G-36 is a little too wide for me to carry every...
