I recently bought a Nickel 5 inch M&P (SN: 119xxx) that came with Mother of Pearl grips without a medallion. The seller told me the grips were factory and although they are quite worn, I was pretty sure they were aftermarket. It wasn't a deal breaker, so I bought the gun. QUESTION: Did S&W sell...
I recently bought a 2 1/2 inch 686-1 s/n AWT41XX from my LGS. I bought my first one new in the box in the 80's and sold it in the mid 90's as I was paring down my accumulation of seldom fired revolvers.
Any guesses on the date of manufacture? I'm just curious and don't need a $100 factory...
K Frame Square Butt grips with screw.
This well-worn set has the rounded bottom. I've seen these called "plainclothes" and "undercover" grips. Commonly seen on 2 inch barreled guns.
They have been in my possession since the mid 1980's.

About 20 years ago I bought a 1950 Colt Officers Model Target Heavy Barrel (see pic). It came with a set of standard and target grips. When I fitted the target grips, they were a little larger than the backstrap. Can anybody tell me what other Colt revolver they'd fit? The consensus on this...

Thanks.
These right handed thumb rest grips came extra with a 1950 Colt Officers Model 38 Heavy Barrel. I've spent the last hour looking at internet photos of Ropers and I can't tell. Any help would be appreciated.
Are these pre-war N Frame Service grips? I know they're N Frame because they fit my pre-war Outdoorsman and not my pre-war M&P. But the serial number stamped on the right panel (194426) is one digit too long isn't it?
Another note: What are the marks on the inside of the right panel near the...
The features on my K-38 confuse me. After reading a few threads on the K-38, mine seems to have a 1949 serial number (K773xx on the butt) but a later wide rib barrel but an early fish-hook hammer. Is this one of those transitional guns that had features spread over design changes? Any feedback...

These came off of a Model 29 that I bought in 1993. They've been sitting in a box for 24 years. I have no idea who made them. The workmanship is excellent. The screw is an Allen Head. As you can see, they're laminated. Guessing is allowed...
SOLD!
I just found these in a box in my workshop where they've been stored since the late-1980's. I bought them as replacements for a Model 29 but never used them. I did a little internet research and the price variation is kinda wide. Since these are at least from the 80's and are basically...
Here is my 6 1/2 inch pre-29 (Correction: Mod 29 no dash). Are these the elusive Coke Bottle grips? They feel quite different from most other N-Frame grips.
Glad to be here. I've got 25+ years in law enforcement and still going (knock on wood). Old blued K & N Frames are my thing. Got my first S&W in 1985. Unfortunately, I live in CA and scratching my collector itch has become difficult.
