There's what looks like a small black set screw in the top of a Novak rear sight. 1) Is that screw used to adjust the sight somehow, or to affix it to the slide by being tightened? 2) Does it need to be removed prior to removing the rear sight from the slide? Thanks.

This pair was recently sold (to me) through gunbroker.com: They have the 'standard' number of holes on the right side (6), but fewer holes on the left side (5 on one mag, 1 on the other mag). I'm told they both hold 15 rounds, like the one that came with my 5906 (it has 6 holes on each side...
