    Nickel 469

This nickel 469 popped up and I'm curious about it. It comes with it's box, some paperwork and several extra magazines (they appear to be 10 rounders). The seller says it an Ashland exclusive and seems proud of it with his asking price of nearly $700. What say you?

    645 with dovetailed front sight

This 645 popped up on another forum and the front sight has me curious. Most I see online have a fixed front sight with a red insert. This one has a black dovetailed front sight. I also noticed the decocker doesn't have a Phillip's nor an Allen head screw in it. The serial number prefix is...

    Ruger Redhawk 41 (photos added)

I recently came across a stainless 41 magnum Ruger Redhawk with a 5.5" barrel. When I saw it, I kinda dismissed it because ammo has been pretty scarce for a while. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I should take another look. The serial number dates the revolver to 1984. I don't have a...

Interarms PPK/S (update on post 22)

I am looking at an Interarms marked PPK/S with serial number of S160893. From what I can tell, this serial number would have been manufactured near the end of Ranger's production run in 1999 and while thier guns had some QC issues, they are generally regarded as better guns than the ones that...

    **SOLD** N Frame stocks (Ahrends)

I am looking sell a few sets of stocks that I have accumulated. 1. SOLD A nice set of square butt black washer walnut K Frame target stocks. They are in very nice shape, but they have one rub in the finish. It is where a right handed shooter's ring might have rubbed it. See photos below...

Finally a 60-4 of my own

I posted about this one a week or so ago and was able to find out it was likely shipped in 1994. Yesterday, the auction closed below my max bid and I found myself at the end of my search. I went to pick it up today and was please to find it was actually nicer than I expected. Below you'll see a...

    60-4

I am looking at a model 60-4 and the serial number starting with BRR has me a bit confused. It is my understanding the 60-4 ran from 1990 until 1994 (maybe as late as 1999), but SCSW 4th edition seems to place the serial number prefix in 2001. Could a model 60-4 have been shipped that late?

    K Frame Football Cutout Stocks

Forgive me if I didn't use the correct vernacular. Since I became interested in Smith and Wesson revolvers, I have found more revolvers without correct stocks than with. Lately, I have been blessed to find a few nice sets of targets/combats. These include two sets of "Football Cutout" stocks...

    Early P226

I am looking at an early Sig P226. The markings on it are painted on. The examples I've seen online have engraved markings. Did they mark them both ways back then? I am waiting for a clearer photo of the right side of the gun. Once I have the serial number, I'll be able to nail down a date on...

    SA 645?

A model 645 has shown up locally and the seller is describing it as a "Target Single Action" model. I dont see any reference to a SAO variant in the SWSC or online. Was this a factory offering or something done aftermarket?

    Joe Pete Holster

I picked up a snub-nosed model 66 last week and it came with a pretty nice holster. It is stamped with what I think says, "Maker Joe Pete". Does anyone know anything about this maker. I haven't been able to find any info about him. This is the only photo I currently have of the holster. I can...

    Year in review

As the year winds down and my gun fund is spent, I find myself reflecting on a pretty good year. The below photos demonstrate my net S&W haul for the year. By some standards, it may be a modest haul, but for me it was a very exciting year. Unfortunately, not all of these belong in this...

    66 snubby with target trigger

I came across a 66nd snubby, did my usual inspection on it and bought it. Now I've realized the trigger has probably been swapped because it is a case harden target trigger. My question is, is this a big deal if I want to get it swapped back to its original format? I really don't mind having a...

    Engraved Jovino 36

This Chiefs Special showed up in a local shop. The factory letter shows it was shipped to John Jovino, but doesn't say it was factory engraved. I hate "what's it worth" threads, but comparables are few, so what do you think?

    SB Combats-update

I'm talking to a guy about getting these square butt combats. He says they fit an N frame, but based on the spacing on either side of the washers, I think they are for a K/L frame. What say you?

    39-2: is it a gen 1?

I'm tracking a 39-2 from '76-77. It's nice... probably 95%, but has no box. When I found it, I didn't understand the differences between it and a model 39. In my research, I feel like I have a better understanding of the model/changes, etc. (Of course, I always welcome insight from this...

Colt Police Positive Special 3rd Issue

I'm a novice when it come to these. It caught my eye because a friend was looking for one. I didn't get the serial number. I'm hoping the you can help me decide if it is worth pursuing. Poking around online, the grips, barrel markings and screw configuration on the right side make me think it...
