    Model 12 questions

Is the alloy frame just a bad idea? How often do they crack? I'm looking at some snubs and can't remember all the ins & outs. Please cast your pearls of wisdom in my general direction. 😁

1917 Holster in good condition - U.S. issued

I'm not looking for a mint 1917 holster, just an original in good working condition. This means it would still have the toe plug with the lanyard loop and the cartouche readable.

    Model 10-9 Snubbie

Any thoughts? Good, bad, indifferent? I have been wanting a 6 shot 38 special snubbie and I found one at a decent price. I would rather have a 10-2 to 10-5 just because those were made earlier, but the 10-9 was made in 1988 so it should be okay. What say you? Truth be told I'd rather have an HE...

Brought my 8 3/8 nickel 27-2 home today.

I took off the rubbers and put on the only other N frame grips I have on hand. Cleaned it some, but will do a better job after I buy some mother's mag polish tomorrow. Serial # N733656. Before: After: All in all, I'm tickled pink with the condition and the out the door price of $820...

    27-2 8 3/8" Opinions

For those that like the long barrels tell me about them. I don't have one but I want one badly. For general shooting and maybe hunting. I think I'm going to want the 3T version. Give me the pros and cons please. I like this one.

    1917 is on its way!

I am stoked!! All I need is the lanyard ring and clean some lead out of the barrel. It was languishing on GB with no bids so I placed the minimum bid and she's mine for under $900. Can anyone place the date?

Sold/Withdrawn WTB I Frame grips for Pre model 31

I have a pre model 31 with aftermarket fake ivory grips. I would like some wood S&W types. This is a square butt model. Thanks!

    Pre model 31, I think 🤔

Won this in an auction not knowing if the grips are MOP or fake. Can't say I care all that much if they're not. Nice little 32 revolver that came with a box with no markings.

Picked up my 6" 28-2 today.

And I like it. It has been used but not abused. I shot 5 or 6 cylinders and everything works like it should. I'll clean it up and polish it some with some flitz and it might look better. Shoots like a dream and I'm already looking for a 4". Serial number is in N44XXX.

    32 HE Prices Increasing?

32 S&W Long S&W HE revolvers seen to be trending up in prices at least on GB. Apparently other guys are also thinking they're pretty neat and until recently, a little undervalued. It could be that I am now looking for better condition and those have always been more costly. What are your thoughts?

    Group Photo Time!

I got all of my pre WWII DA revolvers out last week and took some pictures. I hope y'all enjoy them. Edit: I've only been at this for a little over a year and there's a few more I'm looking for. 44 Spcl & 38 Spcl 32WCF PIMP guns! 32 Long HEs plus a lone HE post WWII 1947 (?) bottom...

Finally a 28 in the house!

I won a nice 28-2 today for under $700 with shipping & tax. While it's not pristine, I think it's in pretty good condition since I plan on shooting the crap out of it. I do like the grips but didn't know what grips came on it. Service grips are not that hard to find. There weren't any pictures...

I frame vs Improved I frame

I have several I frames and I really like them. 3 HEs & 1 pre model 30. The model 30 had the improved I frame. So, what's the difference/change?

    M&P Help

Just picked up this 5" barrel M&P 38 special. What I know: looks good, might be refinished, internals are clean, no rust or corrosion. Releasing the cylinder is tight as it appears the rod is not pushing forward enough for a clean release. Shutting the cylinder is also tight. Also, what are the...

    32 HE Obsession

I got into HE revolvers last year and have acquired a few good ones and some in well used condition.

Help with 21-4 Serial Number info

It's a 21-4. I'm trying to figure out if it's a Lew Horton revolver. Serial number is pictured before. There isn't a S&W trademark on the display either.
  17. 45NUTT

So tell me about my 21-4

This is the first new S&W (re: lock & MIM) I have even considered buying. The price was decent and I've been wanting a W&K 44 special, but they are a little out of my price range. It's nickel with odd colored grips. I will probably put Altamounts on it when I get it in hand. Pros & cons? Do...

    My HE Family

I got the bug about 6 months ago and so far I have accumulated 3 -32 Longs, 2- 32-20's & a 44 Spcl. This isn't going to stop is it? :D

    I won a 1931 HE 44 Special

These are pictures from the auction site. It says made 1931 and to me, it looks in pretty good shape for a 94 year old revolver. The only bad thing is someone drilled a hole in the butt for a lanyard ring then removed said lanyard ring. I think it's okay for $701.00! What say you?

38 Special use in early HE's

I am assuming that if the revolver says 38 Special on the barrel, it is okay to shoot standard 38 special in it. If the barrel says 38 S&W CTG, then it would be the shorter 38, correct? I am looking at a 1905 M&P and the barrel has the 38 Special ctg marking. I am fairly new to the older S&W...
