    Browning B92 vs Rossi R92.

I put this B92 in .44 magnum on hold while I ponder whether to commit . My gut says it's worth paying almost double what I see used Rossi R92's selling for, What say you?

    Model of 1989

How many S&W's models were marked "Model of 1989" or "Model of 1988"? Which ones were roll marked and which ones were laser engraved? I know the early 625's were roll marked 1988 and laser engraved 1989, the 627's were, and a run of Model 25's I believe. I have a 625-2 laser engraved 1989, and...

    Target grips on K22

Were target grips being numbered to the K22's in 1955? Any estimates on how many K22's or what percentage were sent out with target grips in 1955 or in total?

    My only model 29

I've never run into a nice model 29-2 for a good price. Maybe someday. I do have this though. Maybe someday it will be worth what a nice 29-2 goes for

    1917 strange markings, importer? Proof?

Came across this today, I can't find any reference to the stamps, particularly the barrel stamp. I don't see a S&W logo, and I see thin finish and grind/file marks...no U.S. property.. School me on what I'm looking at!

Going rate for pre-29 in box?

LGS has this for sale for 3 large, and that seems high to me but I'm not up to speed on the market for a 5 screw pre 29. What does the forum think about this gun?

    This 18-2 fooled me.

Looked great in all the pictures, even looked really good in my own pictures. But I saw some things about it that made me suspicious. Specifically the right side. Specifically the sideplate. Fit is good, no signs of buffing, but it just didn't look right. So there it is, direct white light...

Hello, Help is requested in ID'ing this gun being sold as a "pre-34", i'm wondering if this is an I frame, and whatever other information can be provided based on the pictures provided. Thank you

Elk on blue, lets see yours

For some reason, to me, stag grips don't look right on a DA revolver...but after buying my first set of elk accidentally, elk antler, with or without bark looks amazing on a blued K frame I brought this 18-2 home today, It was advertised as having "replacement stag grips" for a sweet price and...

    TSW matching slide and frame?

I recently bought a Brinks 4046TSW. Glancing through the catalogue entry for this gun I'm reading "each TSW has the frame and slide machined as a matched set with an assembly number on each half" I would presume that means the slide is numbered to the gun but I'm not seeing any such markings...

    1955 K22 with target grips/hammer

Sold my 17-2 tonight to fund this K22. I'll miss the 17-2 but it was nothing special, magnas with narrow trigger and semi target hammer. It 98% in its original box though and I hate selling guns as nice and complete as that one was. But 5 screws, a tapered barrel, and 2-T's are better, so I'm...

    Poll for L frame fans

Which would you choose if you had to choose between the two, and why? this 586 no dash, no box for $799, or this 686-3 with box for $699?

    Brinks 4046TSW

Just won one of these at auction for under $300, I was doing a great job resisting an all steel, American made auto for a dirt-cheap starting bid...until I saw that it has my initials for the serial number prefix. What's the scoop on these? Why so cheap? Just an unwanted redheaded DAO...

Genuine or imitation stags on this 18-2?

Are these imitation or genuine stag grips on this 18-2 I just bought? I won't know until It arrives. Advertised as imitation, but they look real to me. What do you think?

Happy with my 2 CMP rnd4 field grades.

First one is a matching 1944 Remington Rand, and i'm going to assume that the frame/slide are original to each other given how closely the finish matches. I do believe that the finish has a strong possibility of being original as well, i'll know for sure when I have it in hand next week. Barrel...

    22-4 Classic range report.

Finally had the chance to take this newer acquisition to the range. Its one of the more accurate fixed sight revolvers i've ever owned, and also one of the more painful to shoot. Ripped my thumb up pretty good so the lanyard is coming off and a grip swap is in the cards. Overall I'm very...

    Price check on shooter 625-2

as the title says, I sold a 625-3 a few years ago, excellent condition, complete in box, for $1250. I have a chance at a shooter 625-2, no box, and I'm not sure where in the spectrum these are right now. What would you expect to pay for this shooter 625-2 in todays market?

    22-4 Classic with Turnbull finish

This one arrived today. This makes the second Turnbull CCH'd S&W revolver I own, the other being a Heritage M15. Anybody know the production numbers on either these CCH'd Classic or Heritage series S&W's? I have contacted Turnbull several times with no answer Thank you

    When S&W contracts out finish?

Kind of curious, On the rare occasions that S&W has used a separate, unaffiliated company to finish their guns, such as Turnbull, Does anyone know how that works? Does S&W send Turnbull a pile of parts for finishing and assembly then Turnbull sends the guns out to distributors? Does S&W send the...

Interesting Colt Army Special with letter

I bought this Army Special in .32-20 earlier this year and when it arrived it had me scratching my head and wondering if I'd been bamboozled. Colt Army Special production officially ended at the end of 1927, and was replaced by the Official Police. I have a few normal production Army Specials...
