Model 38 air weight nickel. Deal or no deal?

Pinned. No box just the gun. Not mint Trying to search this one is difficult because it's a model 38. I get a million irrelevant search results. I couldn’t get an associate to take it out of the case before I had to leave for a meeting. Not sure why the picture ends up sideways Good deal?

    629-5 Classic 8 3/8” barrel question

Looking back on the first S&W I ever purchased. It is a 629-5 Classic with a full lug 8 3/8” barrel and hogue rubber grips with S&W emblem. I’ve been doing some google searching and can’t find similar examples. Did they make less of the dash 5 Classics with the long barrel? I know the long...

Is this a model 29 classic

I was wondering if you could tell me if this is a model 29 Classic? I only have the one picture for now. Looks like 6.5”. The full lug is what is throwing me off. Seller asking $1250. Thank you.

29-2 grips football or speed loader cut?

I purchased a model 29-2 serial number N632107. It’s nickel plated and came with rubber Pachmayr grips. I would like to install correct goncalo alves target grips. That said, I read something about later N frames having speedloader cut grips instead of football. I have both styles, I just...

    New to me 4506 (R4) dash 3

I picked this up today. It would normally be a gun I would pass by, because I’m more into revolvers, but an outstanding series of threads by member 18DAI educated me to exactly how cool these are. I had to run back and grab it. No box but that’s OK with me. His thread for reference can be found...

Updated - Decided on 617-2 with odd product code

Edit: the 617-2 has product code 100567 which is a Ashlands edition code? Box end label picture attached I’m looking at two model 617s. A dash 2 6” with 10rd stainless cylinder The other is a 617-6 4” with 10rd cylinder Both are priced at $650 I like the shorter 4” but I don’t care for the lock...

Did the 66-1 ever ship with combat grips

I recently looked at a 66–1 at the local gun store. It’s beautiful and has SW round butt combat grips on it with original box. I can’t make out what the end label says with regards to the stocks. Price tag is 900

Model 29 no dash nickel 6.5” good deal? More pics added

Prior thread was messed up I found this model 29 no dash in a shop about an hour from me. The crane area just says Mod 29. It is 6.5” with presentation box. The serial number is S2173xx Took the stocks off to see serial number. Someone mentioned in the previous thread to look for factory rework...

Would a 686-4 had wood grips when new

Hi guys. I bought a 686-4 with rubber Hogue monogrip. Would this have been on it when it was made or would it have been made and shipped with wood target stocks?

    New gun day. 629-4 Backpacker

Picked up this one today. I usually collect earlier guns but this one was cool. I think it’s a backpacker based on a previous thread. It has a 3” barrel and BSD76xx serial number.

629-4 with 3” barrel? Also 13-2 and 33-1 question with pictures

Briefly looked at some interesting Smiths yesterday. First one was a 629-4 with 3” barrel and no lock. Had hogue style rubber grips with S&W logo molded in (not the silver emblem) Would this be a Backpacker? Think the price was $750 The other two had not been priced yet but I had to look them...
