The original Smith & Wesson 1000 was made by Mossberg in both a 2 3/4" aluminum receiver and 3" Magnum steel receiver version known as the 1000M.

Terrific guns. Probably Mossberg's best looking auto Well worth the money. Mine is an 1000M which is a 3" Magnum with steel barrel and receiver.

The Lanyard was something that I added myself. I replaced the nut on the Hogue grip adapter with one threaded for an Uncle Mike's machine screw rifle swivel, which I used in place of the Hogue's grip screw. Very simple, and handy for keeping up with your gun in the tent, or while bear hunting...

Brownell's sells brass squib rods in various sizes that are close fits in the bore. I carry both a 44 and a 35 caliber in my range bag. I have only used them a couple of times in over 25 years, but they were worth the money them.
