Someone modified a Patridge Nickeled front sight so they could see to shoot it! Nickel and stainless front sights are nearly impossible to see in sunlight for a lot of folks, me included. Why the factory sent model 27s out with nickel front sights is beyond me!

I bought a M17 for my active duty grandson, it has only had a few hundred rounds through it. I had not heard of problems with the M17, but would like to know what they are!

I don't think anyone has mentioned that the frame lugs will be different for the two cylinders, if the frame lug was replaced when the new cylinder was installed. For the recessed cylinder to fit, the new frame lug would have to be filed down for the recessed cylinder to fit.

I have used 3.0 gr. Bullseye powder for 148 gr.wadcutters for 50 years. I use the same load for 158 semi wadcutters too. Just a little more pop than the 2.7 grain load that most target shooters used.

That is a common situation with S&W K22s. They have tight chambers. The permanent answer is to use a .22 finish reamer to ream each chamber to standard width. There is a member here who has the tools to do this that he is loaning them around to other members to use to fix their K22s. Check...

The rear sight has the flat screw head on the right side, so it could be original. The OP did not say whether it was white outline or not, that I could find. It looks like a great shooter, so make it your own as you want. :)

I have RCBS primer tubes that I have used for probably 50 years that have brass tips. They work much better than the plastic tips on the Dillon tubes. So if you can get metal tips, I certainly would try some.

I assume they are both 148 grains and he is loading a target load of powder, no problem.
