J Frame Snub Owners: What is your favorite EDC Holster?

I have been looking for that Mas Ayoob video I talked about in my 2023 comment here. It is just gone. It was not ever on the Wilson Combat Channel and the place where I am now sure I saw it has taken it down. Anyway the offside pocket carry started only for the backup gun at first, but something...

What was your first Smith and Wesson??

My Daddy gave me a Model 28-2 Highway patrolman! I shot that thing until I could take the wing off a gnat in flight... ...and with the gnat flying too! I was please to give it to my older brother when I started carrying a Model 29, and then in 2000 a 696 in 44spl.

I read on this forum that a certain S&W 3rd gen, the 6906 IIRC, would feed frozen green beans?! Well I have a 6906 and I want to say about that, it is not completely true, unless you cut them to length before you freeze them. Also the beans do not extract very well…just sayin’. Anything you...

I concur with the drop theory. I always practice my reloads and clearance drills by dropping the spent mag straight down. I would be surprised to learn that failure was possible simply from being loaded even after 30 years. Is there a way to know?

I have the light gray ladysmith grips on mine which helps concealing when I am wearing a white cotton shirt untucked. A black gun in a black AIWB holster shows through in some light. Maybe. I think. Mebbe not. What makes you think of carrying it now? I like this gun for appendix carry. Thin...

    Afraid of AI?

Your opening post included multiple metaphors, which is a feature of bad AI writing 😁

    PDW's

In original Krav Maga, as practiced by average civilians on the streets of Tel Aviv, and taught by its founder Imi Sde-Or (Lichtenfeld) an important concept is improvised weapons. Once I learned the "short stick" and its associated techniques, I was able to see all the things around me that I...

    2" vs 3" .38/.357 revolvers

Cross draw shoulder holsters are great for car carry and an added benefit is you get a longer barrel. However, there was a problem. It was the retention training. Weapon retention training is NOT more difficult for officers with shoulder holsters, but it is different. Therefore those wanting...

    S&W J frame vs. Glock 42

Howdy BB57! Always enjoy your input. About .380ACP velocity. I run the Cor Bon 380+p, which is only so labeled by them on the later boxes. It makes 1000fps or from my Colt Mustang. Because it expands so violently, it always under penetrates. However, the slower Federal Hydra-Shok from that gun...

    Tagua

The local cop store in Greensboro has or had in the past a rack of Tagua holsters. I handled them to my satisfaction in the store. I purchased one and functionally it is fine. The finish and appearance leaves something to be desired.

    What are you carrying today?

Model 411 in 40s&w on the side with one reload. Model 38 Bodyguard Airweight in 38spl. in the pocket. Orso Viper 3.5" folding knife in the pocket.

    Tom Cruise as Longmire!?!?

Sadly, you are quite correct, and once you know how to spot artificial intelligence you see it everywhere. There are certain elements that AI does not currently get right, things which people behind the many Fakebook reels, posts, and streaming TV commercials don't know either, including...

Interesting Averages for shots fired in a Self-Defense

I liked the article and thanks chief for showing us. We had a thread awhile back about the number of rounds, and discussion fell apart over the word typical. We will do the same with the word average. Distance is dependent on how your assailant launches his attack. He is pretending that he is...

    Model 10-9 Snubbie

Short barrel for inside the waistband if you carry at 11:00. Crossdraw is for car carry in my opinion, which I do on a car trip. There are problems at stops with concealment involving the grip but never involve the barrel which extends down by the hip joint.
