I am looking for the born on date for my 19-4

Hello, I just received a 19-4 from GB, sn# 41K9xxx with a 6" barrel. It has honest working wear on the muzzle, cylinder, distinct drag mark on the cylinder, but no dings, rust, or abuse. If someone would please provide the born on date, I would be much obliged. One other question, when did...

    Custom 645

There was a thread about that some tim ago, but I can't remember if it was in the middle of a 4506 or 645 thread.

    Custom 645

It is a very nice gun. You could always replace the safety with a 3rd gen one.

    What to Buy: 645 or 4506-1 ?

I have had two 4506-1's, a 4563TSW, and a 745 (a single action only version of the 645). I have grown to like the handling of my 745 better. The 645 points and balances a little better, the grips look better imho, the backstrap has more aggressive checkering. The 645 safety is UGLY, but can...

    4506 Grips

I like the factory curved. The aftermarket grips always seem to make them too chunky.

    SW380 - any good

I have had two of them and swapped them out for different backup/off duty guns. Both of them were 100% reliable and very simple. I also liked the magazines because they would not accidentally pop out. They had a lot of recoil... my hand would ache after shooting a box of ammo, and the lack of...

Consignment 1076 - Help me decide- Deal or no deal?

Depends on how many unfired 1076's with the box and accessories you see.

GOOD WITH ONE GUN? GOOD WITH ALL GUNS?

Fantastic thread. IMHO, this goes one of two ways; either you onw a couple of guns, or you own a bunch. If you are of the first persuasion, then sticking to one is probably the best bet. If you are of the second, then you may be better with a particular, but otherwise it doesn't matter as...

    745 problem

Sure, but it it was designed as a refined SA 645 for gaming. Regardless it does not even measure up to my stock 4506-1.

    745 problem

No I do not handload, and since none of them are my duty pistol I do not shoot them as much as I would like to. It may be that the 745 prefers a handload, but I do not understand why the more refined pistol cannot keep up with a plain 4506-1 or the 4563TSW.

    745 problem

It does have an overtravel stop. I am not perceiving any catching, but I might re-adjust it to see if that helps. Even though I not the original owner, there is a warranty card in the box. Maybe it is time to send it back to the factory.

    745 problem

I have had my 745 for a few years now. It is pretty much a safe queen... (I have 2 other S&W 45's). Of my 3 (a late model 4506-1, and a 4563TSW) it is by far the least accurate with whatever I shoot. The barrel crown in fine, I have replaced the main spring, the trigger is dandy, it does...

    Full Auto M&P??

The G18 is fairly difficult to control, so as a LEO weapon it has a very limited role. The public really has a problem with missed shots hitting their loved ones, houses, etc and there is an outcry every time someone has a bunch of bullet holes in them too. As a result I don't think there is...

    Mounting a red dot on a 745

I am pretty sure that a mount was made that replaced the grips...I'd like to say Aimtech and I think I saw it on Midway's website.

    4500 Series Question

The 45xx series pistols are among the most underated pistols of all time. The only complaints you will hear is that they are too heavy. I have never heard about any frame cracking on the 45xx, but they are mechanical things. Even sigs (gasp) have well documented issues with frame...
