Problem with RCBS Auto matic Bench Priming tool #9460

Yes, please tell us. I remember having that issue myself a while back, but for the life of me, I don't know what I did to correct it.

    A gift........

It's called "passing it on" or "paying it forward" and is something I hope we all do at some point.

    A performance center 629 odditie

No, I believe you were correct with the "competitor" moniker. I remember when these were being offered and the selling point was because of the weights one could change to vary the barrel weight and center of gravity. While the old "Stealth Hunter" had a similar looking barrel, it did not have...

    Info request S&W 500 Damaged

From my experience, while insurance would have covered the gun if it was stolen, because the damage was done because of carelessness, they probably won't. It could very well be that the other lady's homeowner insurance may cover it tho. Like others, I would not trust the gun, especially if S&W...

    460 magnum reloading questions

Those bullets are intended for .45 Colt velocities and pressures...I'd be leary running them at legitimate .460 velocities for fear of jacket separation and/or premature and excessive forcing cone damage. Stick with the .45 cal XTP-Mags if you use Hornady bullets. Speer's 300 gr Deep Curls are...

    Your most accurate magnum powder

Kinda depends on bullet weight. I find IMR4227 likes heavy bullets along with a full case. It is my go to powder for 300 grainers in my .460. With 240s in the X-Frame, H110/W296 shoots better. Similar with .44 mag. When used in my carbines, IMR4227 is the most accurate while giving me just a tad...

    dealing with large cases

LOL....same here. After reloading .460 for a coupla decades, I don't really think of a .38 case as being "large". That said, everything is relative, eh? I assume the OP is relating to the fact that most fast powders used for .38 Special don't use the majority of the case volume available. Never...

    44 Mag load

I hafta agree with the above. More folks damage their guns using too little H110/W296 than too much. While Unique is a great pwoder for mid level loads, it will never match the performance of H110/W296. For folks who want legitimate "magnum" loads in their .44s and want to feel very safe about...

    Pistol Primers

...went out to eat last week and the local Perkins was out of most of their most popular menu items. Waitress said they can't get them from their supplier. Local school district cannot get toner for their copy machines, and have told there is no light in the distance......this is from Xerox...

    H110 1998 VS 2020 ?

I have yet to ever see any velocity variances as much as this between lots of the same powder and do not think the formula has changed. I have to think there is something else going on. Could be a combination of things.

    357 Magnum & H110 low velocity

I would try loading some up with 16 gr instead of 17.5 and see what you get. I've found that sometimes you get to the point when adding more powder, that velocity actually decreases at a point. H110/W296 likes a firm crimp for best ignition too. Was the 158 grainer jacketed or plated?

    IMR 4227

Use it. Good stuff in .44 mag.....IMHO, it's just okay in .357. It's my go to powder for 460. Years ago I was told by Hodgdon that the recipes for IMR4227 and H4227 were not interchangeable. Last response was that if there was an issue with interchanging the recipes between the two, they would...

    460 xvr completely jammed

The cylinder needs to rotate for the hammer to cock, either in SA or DA. The release could be all the way forward already, and may be why it will not go forward anymore. Check to make sure you cannot see anything interfering with the cylinder, like a high primer, a case backed out to the recoil...

    POI change due to weight/velocity

yes, and that is why velocity affects POI(bullet drop at specific distances).....as was the question asked by the OP.
  16. B

    POI change due to weight/velocity

....but I didn't say velocity had anything to do with gravitational acceleration. I said velocity has an impact on bullet drop. Why does a 180 gr .44 mag bullet drop 6"@100 yards while a 180 gr 30-06 only drops less than 2". Velocity.
  17. B

    POI change due to weight/velocity

^^^Best answer. But weight has no impact on drop due to gravity. Velocity does.

    .44 Mag using Power Pistol?

If I've said it once, I've said it way too many times. If you have a hard time finding recipes for certain powder/bullet combinations in published manuals, there's a good reason. It's not necessarily that it won't work, but odds are it doesn't work well and that is why they are not included in...

    "Should I........"

^^^This. Besides, this is social media and folks are using it to socialize. Would the question of "what load do you like in your 686" be something to get upset about when playing cards with a group of friends while out at the range? Yes, I agree that many folks use forums for an easy way out...

    6" L-frame for camping/hiking.

I have 686s in 4", 5" and 6" barrel lengths. With decent holsters, there is little or no difference in how they carry when hiking/camping. With your chest holster I'd assume it will carry well and comfortably. If you are happy and enjoy your set-up, it really doesn't matter what others think.
