Almost always when I need to look up a Serial Number, it's because I am looking at a probable, new to me, gun. At these times I almost never have access to my books. I always have access to my phone.

I didn’t have any Flitz so I used just a dab of Mother’s Mag polish and those stains disappeared. Thanks for the tip.

I find that I need to buy a set of RB J frame stocks for my ‘91 vintage model 60. To be sure there are a lot of them out there but I want them to be correct in appearance. I assume I need the type with the stainless steel stock circles but I don’t know what the checkering pattern looks like...

So if the British didn’t own them, why weren’t they just returned to the US? Why the commercial proofs, sometimes modifications and sale of them?

My BSR has British proofs on it which shows it left the country, but it does not have any Broad Arrows or any unit issue marks.

I just kind of lucked into this. I didn’t know SIL was into guns and her family didn’t know what to do with it. They just wanted it gone. Good deal for me. I have been on the lookout for a 60 for some years but they were always kinda pricey

No unfortunately I do not have the box or the original stocks. I will need to find a set of correct stocks.
