What about online sellers that say "No Returns" in their ads

Let me say up front that I do not sale guns on-line. But I can see the other side of the discussion. Once you send a firearm to someone you have no control anymore. If they drop it and damage it while taking it out of the package, your word against theirs. Worst case, the arm is used for a...

    Gun Show Prices Are Reasonable

I know that I am going to be pillered for saying this, but complaining about gun show prices just does not make sense. Prices are not out of line based on the averaged gross family income. As an example ........... today, the average combined family income is around $52,000 a year. History...

    welp, here we go! (recommendations)

Well, when you posted this you really got these revolver guys going. Anyway here is my 2 cents worth; 1) Whatever you buy it is going to be "used" because of the price limit you set. The gun will most likely be a real "beater". Mechanically sound but homely enough that you never want your...

Vacation suggestions for Me and the Wife

For my money the drive on highway 101 from San Francisco, north to the Canadian border, is the most beautiful and interesting my wife and I have ever made. We have been in every state in the Union at least twice and still find 101 the best of all. Beautiful sea coasts, forests, many forms of sea...

    WHY DO GHOSTS NEED CLOTHES?

Nope! Just asking an honest question. Every time someone see a ghost it is dressed as someone from the past. I have never heard of spirit clothes, ever!

    WHY DO GHOSTS NEED CLOTHES?

I have always wondered why ghosts need clothes. And if ghosts do have clothes, is there a ghost clothes store? And if there is a ghost store, how does the ghost pay? What do you folks think?

Senior citizens: childhood memories - add yours

I have no pictures to share. But what I do remember are these things; Your handshake was your bond, if you injured yourself with a tool, you looked around to make sure no one saw you and thought you were an idiot, you did not use curse words as it was a sign of ignorance, doors went unlocked at...

    Harrassing Phone Calls

Get in touch with the Texas Attorney General's office. You can actually file a complaint via the internet. Give as much information as you can about the company. The next time the collector calls, tell him that his calls are harrasment and you have turned him in to the TAG. Also file a complaint...

    Clearing Out the Gun Safe

Well, I finally did what I have thought about doing for the past couple of years. I cleared the gun safe of several guns. I am not going to tell you how many, or of what brand, or model. Just finally decided that it was time for new folks to enjoy what I have been able to have fun with...

    Old Tv's

Still have the Muntz. But do not watch it much anymore. Newest program it gets is Gun Smoke. Besides, there is just too much cigarette advertising. Plus the blamed thing stops having programs at 11 PM.

    Zero Distance for a 1911

Since you are talking about a concealed carry pistol, then "set" the sites for no more than 8 to 10 yards. I would just about bet that this is the most distance that you can justify shooting at someone. If you want to shoot at longer distances, use another gun of your choice.

Current value of a string of payments

I have been retired over 7 years and have yet to collect Social Security (not old enough). I am living very well and have managed to maintain a constant draw that has not changed in these years. I do have some real world experience here. First, I agree with the advice to go see a financial...

Which 45ACP S&W revolver would you choose and why?

Got to go with the 625-8's in 4 or 5" barrels. Shooting either gets boring at the range because they just cut one small hole in the paper. An added plus is that if you own a 45 ACP you are loading only one caliber for several guns. I owned early 45 long Colts and found them to be not as...

    Shooting glasses after cataract surgery...

May I humbly suggest that you do not scrimp on the cost of shooting glasses. Buy good ones that will protect and cover the eyes, especially the sides. Even $100 for a great pair is cheap when compared to the possibility of loosing an eye. I personally do not purchase cheap safety equipment...

Mattel Fanner Fifty, anyone remember these?

Yes, I remember the Fanner Fifty with fondness. Matter of fact, when I start thinking about my childhood days, I go into my study and pull out the old fanner. I still have the revolver, the gun belt, and all the shells with the bullets. The gun belt also has the large belt buckle with the...

Can I do this to a holster?

Yes, you can wet the leather and stretch it until the snaps line up. The leather will dry and go back to it's orginal color. BUT, be aware that stretching the leather 1/4" is going to be a lot of stretch. Most likely it will pull the sides of the leather inwards resulting in an hour glass look...

    Carry Gun: 1911 Commander vs 3" or 4" .41mag /.44mag S&W: Your Experience & Thouthts

My 2 cents My comment is that you need to carry a caliber that is more than "innocent bystander" safe. The big magnum calibers are fine in the woods but not in a city situation. If, and God forbid, you are ever forced to use your gun, you want a round that will stay in the bad guy. Not one that...
