First time firing my 360 PD bad experience

My guess is that all of the damage visible is from the techniques used opening the cylinder with a bullet that jumped crimp and the extraction of brass from a high pressure round stuck in a titanium cylinder. The cracked brass on the jumped round confused me, but I believe it is from the bullet...

Reloading a Winchester Model 1873 chambered in 357/38

If you are settled on those components, the Hodgdon site has data. I like HP-38/W231 for a number of applications, but I primarily shoot cast bullets.

    Astronaut James Lovell - RIP

I met him twice. First time was very brief. He was at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola discussing the upcoming movie about Apollo 13. They had the book coauthored by CAPT Lovell for sale. It had Tom Hank's picture on the cover. Just a couple of years later he came aboard the USS...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

I wonder how many folks that believe striker fired is impossible to do safely have also carried a Winchester Model 70 or similar bolt action around in the woods. This is just food for thought, and not meant to lessen concerns of P320 unintended discharges.

    Rattlesnake

I've only seen one this year, but I haven't been out in the desert as much as I normally am. It was by the back door at work. I got the shovel out of my truck, scooped it up and set it free back in the open desert. One person in particular at work wasn't very happy. Hanta virus is a real...

    .44 caliber powder coated wadcutters

Bear Creek has hollow based. https://www.bearcreeksupplybullets.com/ Before I cast my own, I shot a decent number of their .38 WCs and 200gr .45 SWCs.

RCBS Cast Bullet #1 manual question

Dillon carries the Complete Reloading Manual from Loadbooks mentioned above. It has the RCBS data as well as several others. There isn't any newer data, but I do find it useful. https://www.dillonprecision.com/15361 Oct/Nov 2018 Handloader Magazine has good data as well.

    Driving through a non-reciprocal state?

Don't forget to double check reciprocity and restrictions. Several years ago I was taking a family trip through a few different western states and was planning on taking advantage of reciprocity with my Florida permit. I KNEW Nevada had reciprocity (it always had). When I started checking my...

Jurassic Park in my back yard

I got married in Key West at the the old fort that is now the Key West Garden Club. People were talking about an iguana that showed up and was hiding amongst the flowers. First one most of us had seen in the keys. 13 years later they were everywhere and jets were waiving off landings because...

    Cartridge pressure?

I was going to post a reference to the same Handloader article. My favorite, if you are looking for this velocity, is 8grs of Power Pistol. Somehow, it is supposed to be under 15,500psi and I get an honest 970fps out of my 4 5/8 Blackhawk w/ a homecast 429421 that weights about 256gr.

    Miss marked Freaks

There is a Model 24 "mis-marked" as a Model 28 on the big auction site right now. I find the finish on the frame interesting for the description provided. Bids are higher than I would have guessed. I like it for what I believe it is, but not enough to bid.

    Red Flag weather warning

The town did their fireworks last Saturday. They caught the desert on fire behind the fairgrounds. That meets up with desert behind my house. All the firetrucks showed up, but wind direction was favorable, so I wasn't too worried.

Sorry, but this hurts my eyes…

I might have made a poor assumption before my first post. So what caliber and/or gauge is it? I was thinking .460 or .500 S&W.

Sorry, but this hurts my eyes…

Meh. Not my cup of tea, but looks like it serves the same role as my T/C Contender.

Suppressors - do they make sense? If they do, then when?

A number of states allow them for hunting. When I move back to one of those, I will happily pay for tax stamp.

    Jaws turns 50 and a 1975 Model 15-3

Saw it at the drive-in when it came out It was the summer before I started elementary school. Double features at our drive-in were always a family type movie first. Jaws was obviously second (although I'm pretty sure it was PG). I guess my parents assumed my sister and I would be asleep by...

    Drop-leg holster - recommendation request

I'm biased. I despise drop holsters. The only reason to use one is to get your handgun below body armor and battle rattle. When fully kitted out, I would use a "jacket drop" for my duty holster. As long as I had a hood on the holster to protect the holster retention from the bottom of my...

Tyler T-Grips and the Oklahoma Attorney General

The company doesn't accept credit card orders. Their website still lists expected delivery of 4-6 weeks. I've been in this hobby for decades. I have several T-Grips I have picked up over the years, but the only reason I am familiar with the wait time and communication fiasco is someone...

    reload 9mm?

I've started casting for 9mm now as well. I picked up a 135gr RNFP NOE mold. Even buying my alloy, with current primer and powder prices I'm at 10 cents a round.
