    Duty sidearm!

Wow...you are lucky to be able to carry a revolver on duty. The sheriff began suggesting that my model 19 be traded out for a semi-auto a few years into my career along with the other revolver guys. Within 6 months, the switch was required. Since that transition, I still sometimes carry a...

I am considering a Hard Chrome finish for my Highway Patrolman

I thank you all for your input. I am still thinking about it...and will likely think some more on it in the upcoming months. I spent a bunch of my "play money" on a rifle project, so am forced to hold off on 2 pistol projects. So in the meantime, I'll shoot it and enjoy it as is. Thanks again

I am considering a Hard Chrome finish for my Highway Patrolman

I have a 4 inch Model 28 S serial number that makes it about 1968. It was a carry gun for sure with holster wear to the blue, but not shot much, still a very tight gun. It is a fine shooter and doesn't need to be refinished or hard chromed. But when I started as a Sheriff's Deputy I was...

If you could only pick 2 ultimate classics

I would keep it N-Frame, but I would go 27 5 inch and 57 4 inch...I know it would be more classic if it was a 29, but someone already picked that :)

Which length 27-2 would you get if you could only have one

I have wanted a 5 inch 27-2 since I was a young guy with my first S&W revolver, a 19-3. The 5 inch 27 is a dream gun for me...Many Many years later I am still dreaming...Maybe someday I will find the right deal.

    Model 27 & Model 28 Values

Keeping in mind that the 27 has several more barrel lengths than the 28. In watching some auctions, the short barreled 27, the 5 inch 27 and the 8inch have shown higher values and when you add in the factory nickle finish on the 27 also brings the $$. But that said, your point is well noted...

    S&W revolvers

I know very little about the engraved S&W guns...but I had a question for those that do...Would they be more valuable as the set, or as individual pieces? And by the way, they are gorgeous! Works of art!
