Model 41 magazines in different pistols

For what it’s worth my early 70’s model 41 that I bought used came with one old style magazine and I bought 5 newer ones with the plastic followers, they all function fine. The original mag does seem to be finished slighty better

Model 52 that my heart desires!

Sweet, I have one that is not as pretty as yours but it sure is fun to shoot, If I point mine in the right direction the shots all land in the x ring. I do have a problem with the jerk pulling the trigger.

    Extractor for S&W 52-2

Glad you found an extractor, here in the states most model 52 shooters end up reloading. For my 52-1 my reloads clock about 650 fps.

Case hardening depth on S&W hammers and triggers

I have a 17-4 that I have owned for 40 years, shortly after I got it I had a well regarded gunsmith do an action job on it, in addition to cleaning up the action, doing a trigger job, polishing or reaming the cylinders he also polished the sides of the trigger and hammer which removed the case...

    S&W Model 41 Reliability

Mine is an early 70’s model and I shoot it at an informal match. The round count in mine is well over 15k rounds and it rarely gives me any grief with any type of ammo. I shoot CCI SV because of the cost and at 25 yards it is more than accurate enough. Mine seems to shoot well with any ammo...

    Model 41 Ammo Suggestion

I shoot CCI SV in mine, more than accurate enough at 25 yards. I have heard that the newer batches of the stuff are not as good as older versions.

O.K. What about Max Loads for 357 Magnum using WIN 296/HP 110?

I have shot a lot of W-296/H110 loads in my 27-2 with a 5 inch barrel, I started out in the mid 1980's using a Speer #10 manual, the newer manuals and powder websites max loads are lower. I think in pistols quite a bit of powder was burned in front of the barrel. I am tempted to buy a...

    Model 41

That looks like a nice one, I think the newer ones are not as pretty and the grips are now laminated wood. I have an older one from the early 70's and it is a great gun to shoot. I have said it before but model 41's seem to come in to versions. One version shoots great with any ammo and...

    Model 41 - Magazine question

I have an older model 41 like yours with one original magazine with the metal followers and 5 of the newer magazines with the plastic followers. All work well, if you feel like you need another magazine I would buy a new 10 shot magazine and give it a try.
