If I were to get a M&P Pro Series pistol....

Ah, I see. I just downloaded the USPSA rules; we don't have Limited or Limited 10 internationally - instead we have the following Divisions: Open (minor & major) Standard (minor & major) Modified (which, it was decided at the General Assembly this weekend, will be no more as of 2012) Production...

If I were to get a M&P Pro Series pistol....

With the M&P 40 he wouldn't be confined to just shooting Production though, would he? He could compete as Standard+ as well (which I do with my XD40, but as is obvious from another thread here I'm looking into shooting Standard- with a M&P 9L or 9Pro). Or is this an area where USPSA rules differ...

    Tactical Light for a M&P 45

SureFire X300 is probably the best there is. But they are priced that way too. Of course, I have an old Streamlight at home, which was (back in '01) a pretty ok light. It'll still do.

    M&P Night Sights

Regarding tritium sights; pretty much all manufacturers use tritium from the same source: Trijicon. However, Trijicon make various qualities of inserts, and from my experience Meprolight tend to use the weakest (and shortest lived) inserts for their sights. However, they compensate by using...

    M&P9L vs M&P9Pro

Tsquared, thank you for the clarification. I'm leaning towards the Pro as it makes sense to get the extras for the same price as a 9L - especially if there's no downside to the Pro compared to the 9L.

    M&P9L vs M&P9Pro

Don't all firearms shoot to point of impact regardless of sights though? ;) All joking aside; at what distance?

    M&P9L vs M&P9Pro

I might swap the rear sight, but then most likely to the 10-8 Performance sight. Please note that the 9L and 9Pro are priced the same here. That sight is just a mere $40; adding an Apex trigger is another $95 though. Is the Apex trigger worth it compared to the 9Pro trigger?

    M&P9L vs M&P9Pro

I've only had a chance to fondle the 9L as of yet, so I don't know how I'll like the fiber front sight of the Pro. New sights are easier to get than trigger parts though, so if the factory trigger job on the Pro-series is good enough then that would a definate check mark in the column for the...

    M&P9L vs M&P9Pro

Hi all, I'm contemplating getting a M&P for IPSC (I currently use a first-generation XD40, but I want a 9x19). Currently S&W doesn't have active representation here in Sweden - the company that just took over won't get their first batch until november, and even then I do not know how many M&P:s...

I would caution you against the Serpa has it has some serious issues. These videos show some of them: Blackhawk SERPA Button Issue - YouTube ArticlePlayer

    The Ultimate Model 27 Thread!

Regarding the 27 above, what would have been the correct grips for it (as delivered from the factory)? The guy I bought it from said it had ill-fitting (no doubt!) K-frame grips when he bought it.

    The Ultimate Model 27 Thread!

Here's the pics I promised of my 27 "No Dash". There are three details that smudges the glory: 1) The front sight has a small ding to it (which I think I can knock out ever so gently); 2) Someone who didn't know how to do it properly has pried loose the side plate; and 3) The original grips are...

    The Ultimate Model 27 Thread!

Today I picked up my second S&W revolver (first being a Model 25 that I picked up this past winter) - this time I got a Model 27 "no dash" with serial number S1919XX. Set me back $730, but I'd say it's well worth it... Damn that is a deep blue... ;) Better pics to come - these are from the...

    Which Jinks book to buy?

Based on this thread I ordered a used copy of "The History of Smith & Wesson" (7th printing) from Northwest Media (on Amazon.com) on March 8 and it arrived today (that's 9 days from WA to Sweden - pretty damn zippy if you ask me!). Though the dustcover is slightly ripped (which I knew from the...

    Info on S&W 32-20 CTG

In the line of trivia (since we already mentioned Robert Johnson's blues song) - the ill-fated Jimmy Blevins in Cormac McCarthy's "All The Pretty Horses" carried a .32-20 revolver with "worn gutta-percha grips". ;)

FBI Agent with Reg Mag - Update

This has been a terrific read. To date I've only held one RM... Then again, being in Sweden that is to be expected... :( Also, now I'm thinking about getting a Threepersons from El Paso Saddlery... ;)
