    WTS: 2.5" 19-3, 5" 10-5

The 19 is in great condition has a few bluing marks, low wear for the age, ahrends grips, etc. Very nice revolver! $550 The 10 is a 5" model in good shooter condition. It has some blue wear, but is still a nice revolver. The wear is mainly on the back strap and the side plate. Very good...

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

Well took it down to nothing. Bead blasted it, replaced the cylinder stop and spring with an oversized power custom, new rebound spring, rubber grip, new screws, and duracoated the sight. Looks better and more uniformed. What do you think?

Need some advice: Bead blasting 629!

Hey guys I just took my 629 apart for a bead blast job, but I really would like to know what I should and shouldn't blast. Can I get inside the area where the cylinder goes? I know I need to cover the muzzle and chamber, but what else? I assume I need to protect the cyclinders correct...

Thanks for the pics guys! Love the longer barrel version and that sweet Nickel beauty! How much would a Nickel run? I'd like to have one someday as I increase my collection. I will have another to add to the collection tomorrow...a 95% Model 19-3 2.5" barrel! Can't wait to get it...

Smith Pre-27! Tell me what you think!

Ed you are probably right, I wondered the same thing. It's an S115xxx so that is pre-27 correct? The warranty card is dated 1955 which would be correct for the SN from what I've read, but the manual is probably wrong??

Smith Pre-27! Tell me what you think!

Smith Pre-27! Tell me what you think!

Hey everyone. I posted in the 1981 to present forum the other day about a 629 I bought and asked in the same thread, what kind of deal a pre-27 was for $450 (good or bad). Well of course I did my own research and listened to you guys and got that thing as soon as I could. I ended up paying...

    4" Model 19 w/round butt w/o ribs??

I saw one of these for sale and was wondering if this was an original configuration or if it was aftermarket round but job. It's a 19 with a round butt, but without the ribs on the backstrap. What do you think?

What's one worth? Found one for $450 in very nice condition w/o grips. I would think it would be worth that pretty easy, but thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks, Kyle

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

Oh just kind of cool, but the guy I got it from said he has had it since the early 60's and all it's done is ridden around in his vehicle in a case. Said he hasn't fired it in 20-30 years! Pretty cool deal if all goes well as far as shipping, etc.

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

Dang guys thanks for all the info on the 27! Good thing I got it bought for $450!!! It has to be shipped so will be at me in a few days. What do you all think this thing is worth? The first of the serial # is S 115xxx. Does that make it a pre-27? On the 629 looks like it's going to the...

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

Thanks Wew I will call around and see what some smith's can do for me. I was thinking that may be the best bet, polish after beadblast. Here's a pic of the 27. I think it would be a cool gun to through in the safe and appreciate in value. Especially if I get it bought right...

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

Thanks for all the info guys. I will call around and see if I can get this thing in somewhere for the vapor hone...I just hate to spend the money if it won't work on the pits! Found another revolver - Model 27, used with holster wear, etc. P&R, 3.5" barrel, $450ish (see if I can get it...

Bought a well used 629, what to do now?

He said it was a mountain gun. How do you tell the difference in just a 629 and mountain gun? Barrel length? I agree it's totally sad, but I guess this way I'll get to use and enjoy it instead of it sitting in the safe....I would have a hard time using pristine old Smith's for packing, etc...
