    The Beretta M9

Have there been any reports about how the pistol is faring with the new M1152 ammo? That load is pretty hot, around 39,000 psi.

    The Beretta M9

I had a 92FS until I transferred it to my son. I liked the gun, even though the grip was just a tad too wide for my dainty hands. My son, who has Shrek hands, loves it. I would not be against acquiring another, but my atrophied 75-year-old mind can't decide on an M9 or a 92FS.

    Aluminum Case Ammo

I've never tried any aluminum-cased ammo. Steel cases? My SKS handled them well but that rifle, I believe, was INTENDED for the use of steel-cased ammo. Isn't that all the Russians used? I also tried some Wolf through my Hi Power just to see if it would work. One box. It worked but, man, what...

What was your first Smith and Wesson??

My first was a 4" Model 19, almost 50 years ago. Traded it. Missed it. Bought another a few years later, but with a 6" barrel. Split the forcing cone with factory .357 ammo. Factory replaced the barrel, but I asked for a 4" barrel and a smooth "combat" trigger. Factory honored requests at no...

Does anyone shoot anything other than 9mm?

Yup. 9mm is relatively cheap and since I shoot it infrequently, only when I have the urge to shoot either of my two Hi Powers, I can't be bothered reloading it. Most of my range guns are revolvers. Very relaxing and no brass to sweep up.

What gun are you on the lookout for?

5" Model 27-2 would be nice. I've seen them on line occasionally; at scalpers' prices which I refuse to pay.

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Years ago, I owned a 92FS. I enjoyed the pistol, had no issues with it, but always thought it was a bit large for a 9mm, especially in the grip area, in my dainty hands. I passed the pistol to my son whose hands are like Shrek's. He loves it. My 9mms these days are Browning Hi Powers, I have a...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Some Philadelphia officers apparently feel the same way about their revolvers. One once told me that he qualifies expert with his, hits what he's aiming at, and is confident with it. I didn't ask specifically, but there was what appeared to be a Smith Model 64 or 65 on his hip. On another note...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Why not just go back to the Colt M1917 sixgun and be done with it?

Favorite 38 spl self defense load

I have three snubs in .38 Special in rotation. None is rated for +P. For me, some jealously-guarded non +P "Chiefs Special" Nyclad 125 grain hollow points. A fallback would be a wadcutter load or just a 158 grain lead roundnose. Remember, it was one of those that took out Lee Harvey Oswald, from...

That's a Smith & Wesson. And you've had your six.

Kinda like, in "Red Heat", the Schwarzenegger character initially used a "Podbyrin 9.2mm" which looked remarkably like a Desert Eagle and then a borrowed Model 29 which, in a final showdown with the villain, became a "seven-shooter". I drove the kids crazy! I was watching one of the "Pirates of...

    Another disappointing gun show

I gave up on gun shows years ago. Too many "Rambotitos".

    Is the .40 dead ? Let's see some !

    I've always thought of a .40 as a rose' wine. If you can't decide between a red or a white (9mm, .45acp) you get a rose'.

Can I shoot +P ammo in my Model 36?

I hate to conjure up old ghosts and tragedies, but if memory serves, Jack Ruby took out Lee Harvey Oswald with one shot, a lead round-nose, non+p, out of a 2" Colt Cobra.

Can I shoot +P ammo in my Model 36?

    Good luck with that.

Can I shoot +P ammo in my Model 36?

I'm not sure why you would want to abuse a revolver as nice as a 36 with +p. Use standard velocity and learn to shoot it well.

    Rip Off or Ignorance?

I am no expert, but it just doesn't "look" right. If there's doubt, don't. I would walk away. The internet is a great place from which to unload guns, that won't otherwise sell, to unsuspecting buyers. Temptation notwithstanding, I won't buy a gun I can't examine FIRST before fronting money.

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

Model 34-1 here. Try other brands of ammo first.

38 M&P, So Many Red Flags

    Reblue/refinish or not, it's a lovely gun.
