Smith to build 'baby 586' ?

I have a 30-1 that I am considering having some serious work done, if it's even doable. What I really want is a baby 586 on the .32 J frame. Would involve new barrel and milling topstrap for adjustable rear sight, and maybe, probably, deepening chambers for .32 H&R. What I want is a 3" full lug...

.22LR powder burn rate? Yes, Im bored

Not sure what factory loads use, but the guys who have successfully reloaded (or rather custom loaded primed cases) or created similar sized tiny centerfire Wildcats have all used very fast pistol powder, VV N310, Bullseye, TiteGroup, etc.

What to do with .357 handloads I no longer can use?

Not against just tucking them back on the shelf in case, but I haven't fired a round of .357 for at least 6 years and finally sold my 28 to fund a new gun. I don't really see myself getting another. Maybe will just break them down and sell the brass and bullets. Patrick

What to do with .357 handloads I no longer can use?

Going through my ammo stash I found 5 boxes of .357 Mag ammo that I reloaded for a gun I no longer own. I don't have a .357 at all anymore, so wondering what to do with these. I don't really want the liability of selling them, but I'm not even able to use the components if I break them down...

opinions on .32 S&W Long load

I use Titegroup or Bullseye My plinking, small game, teach new shooters load is that same bullet over 1.7 of either Tiregroup or Bullseye, shot in my 30-1. Accurate, quieter than a high velocity .22, and nearly as cheap to shoot. I use a custom dipper to measure powder in that small of loads...

    T/C Contender rifles

I have two frames, one stays a carbine with a 23" bull in a wildcat .17-357 of my own design. MGM chambered it for me and it has shot .6" groups at 100 yes. My other frame stays a pistol with 10" .22 LR, 14" 7-30 for deer, and a 15" bull in the same .17 wildcat. Love Contenders!

Anyone use Lee Tumble Lube mold for .32 S&W Long? (.314 dia. 90 grain)

I use that bullet in a 31-1 and it does well. My mold drops at .314 and about 93 gn. using soft stick on wheflweight lead. I load 1.7 of Bullseye or TiteGroup and it duplicates factory loads for velocity and accuracy. I shoot them unsized with a light wipe of Lee liquid lube. The Missouri...

    WTT 28-2 for 586

Have a shooter grade 28-2, 6" barrel, P & R, non original stocks (has Pachymayrs on it now). Good finish, front sight modified to a patridge shape, very slight ring in barrel, TT, TH, S prefix and number date to 1961. As I said, not collector grade, but a great shooter with amazing trigger...

If you bought a new S&W recently and love it... tell us!

Bought a '69 30-1 for around the farm "bigger than a .22" kit gun type use. Love it, and the kids are learning to shoot it pretty well also. For actually new stuff, just traded a Kel-Tec P-11 in on a brand new M&P 9c. Only a few boxes through it, but really like it so far. Not much bigger than...

    Which Remora for M&P 9c?

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered the 6, with the hurricane it may be a while before I see it, but that's ok. I wore my last one for over three years and loved it, so they've earned my business. Can't beat a comfortable holster that performs exactly as advertised and only cost $15! Patrick

    Which Remora for M&P 9c?

Carried a Kel-Tec P-11 for a long time in a Remora IWB, now I've upgraded guns to the 9c and want to make sure I get the right holster. Website doesn't show the 9c, but shows the size 6 for a M&P Pro 3.5". Anyone with first-hand experience with a 9c or 40c in a Remora with recommendations? Would...

Recommend Smith to ream .32 Long to .32 H&R

Looking to get my 30-1 reamed to H&R so I can share ammo and reloading with my Ruger. Any recommendations on smiths? I know some on here have mentioned having it done, so it must not be too uncommon. Also, what could I expect to pay for the job? Thanks, Patrick

    Keltec P11

I've had mine for about 10 years, and it's my carry gun. I have not counted, but it's had at least 1000 trouble free rounds through it. I polished the feed ramp, slide rails, and hood when I got it, but since then nothing. I don't shoot it for fun, it is a bit snappy, but what do you expect from...

    Value of 29-3?

Have an friend that may want to sell a 6" 29-3, dates to around 1983. Slight turn line, but otherwise pristine. Factory stocks and with a Bianchi 'Dirty Harry' style shoulder rig. I don't want to insult him with a lowball, but would $800-900 be out of line? I think he'd let it go for $900...

Mod 10 vs Mod 30 vs Mod 31

Mostly just round vs. sq. butt, although I think the 30 could be had in both styles (I know it doesn't make sense). 2, 3, and 4" barrels available that I've seen. I just picked up this 3" 30-1 in decent condition for under $400, but I looked for a while. Stock magna grips are useless for real...

    Make a .32 kit gun?

So the easy part is done, finished the new stocks over the weekend. Went with cherry as I had some and it's nice to work, and it'll darken into a nice reddish orange with age. Pretty happy with the shape, ended up sort of an extended RB with the middle finger support of a Target grip. Feels...
