    S&W shipments overseas

I have a nice Model 27-2 sitting next to me as I type this and I can't help wonder how it got here. I know that S&W has a network of nationwide US distributors. But how does a gun get sent to Canada? Does S&W have an actual Canadian distributor? Does anyone know how S&W ships guns to...

Your carry is spotted in a restaurant. What would you do?

Here in Alberta, a concealed carry permit is almost impossible to obtain. However, I am a criminal defence lawyer and here's my advice. If you have a CCW permit, keep it it readily at hand. And in the above situation, you should quickly produce the license and say, " I am legally armed and...

    ar-15 build

The good folks at Brownell's are one of our sponsors. I would recommend them most highly. They are the best vendors in the gun business today. You will never find any better customer service. Anyway, here is a link to a Brownell's video showing you how to build your own AR-15. Brownell's...

    Pinned, recessed and MiM-free

I wish that S&W would make some blued guns that were pinned, recessed and MiM-free. And of course these revolvers would be free of locks and other useless nonsense. They could produce a line of revolvers called the Traditional Series. They need not have the traditional high polish blue. The...

    Northern Alberta

I thought I might post a few pictures of Northern Alberta. Here's the view about 5 miles from my house: Here's the world famous Mad Trapper Inn. This establishment is so tough that on the bar room floor they use sawdust to soak up the blood from all the fights; And here's the Athasbasca...

    45 acp reload for 6" 1911

Funny thing, but my favorite .45 ACP load is 6.0 grains of Unique over a 230 grain FMJ. I also shoot the same charge of powder together with a cast lead 230 grain roundnose.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I noticed a post in the S&W rifles section about Husqvarna-made S&W rifles. I tried answering the post but could not. I have a Husqvarna rifle that looks like the one owned by the poster. I would like to post some pictures of the gun over here. Later

    Original S&W grips and boxes

Thank you Mr. Richard. The funny thing is that both guns were offered for sale at our range. The notice was pinned to the bulletin board at the clubhouse and the guns were offered for sale for several months. I did everything to resist, but the siren song of the Smith & Wesson cried out to me...

    K Frame

I would like to see S&W bring back the K frame. And I would especially like to see a five shot .44 special built on a K frame. Make it with a five inch barrel, classic Goncalvo Alves stocks, and blued. And make sure that there are no schmoed-out MiM parts or locks.

    Original S&W grips and boxes

After lurking here for the better part of a month, I thought I should join this forum. I am much smitten with the two Smith and Wessons that I bought recently. One is a 27-2 and the other is a 66-2. Both have 6" barrels. Here is a picture of the 27-2: Now after shooting the 27-2 with full...

    Northern Alberta

Greetings from Northern Alberta. I am a recovering gunaholic and I know that I can stop buying guns anytime I want. I especially enjoy classic S&W revolvers and other precison handguns. So far I only have a 27-2 and a 66-2. I also have a SIG-P210 and a Finnish Lahti L-35. I also have an...
