    Its been awhile....

I haven't been on the forum to post in some time, but I check in from time to time. Haven't acquired any more revolvers, although I'm trying to talk a friend of mine up in MI out of a M1917.....maybe someday.... However, I did take my 586-1 to the range last week for the first time in at least...

    FBI "Active Shooter Incidents" study

An interesting article on an FBI study of mass shootings in the last 15 years.... Why is the FBI misleading the public about active shooters? ? GunsAmerica Blog There's also a link(in the article)to read the FBI study.

    CCW for my daughter

Still looking for her a J-frame...she decided to borrow my M37 temporarily & we can get her a 442/642 for Christmas. :-/ In the meantime, I have been looking at options with a laser....the Bodyguard or the 442/642 with laser grips. Prices are all surprisingly close to each other. I have not...

    Smith n Wesson bodyguard 38

I've been looking at the Bodyguard as a Christmas present for my daughter, but I haven't handled one myself. What she has shot & liked was the 442/642. The Bodyguard appears overall to be the same to handle. I thought the laser might be a nice upgrade, but don't know how it's activated. My...

    My TAURUS experience

Never owned a Taurus revolver, but I have one of their compact auto 9mm's. It keeps up with my Sig 2022 on reliability & accuracy out to 25 yds. It has about 500 rds through it so far, no complaints. I've never had to test their service response, but over on the Taurus forums the turn-around...

    Model 19-4

I've been looking for a 357 carry revolver for the farm. I wanted something a little heavier than a J-frame, with shorter barrel than my 4" 586. Ideally, I wanted a SS model, but I came across a 19-4 today that might fit the bill. It is not SS...some PO parkerized it. Everything feels good &...

passed up a 442 magnaport this morning....

Wow! I should have searched the S-W forum 1st. I just read through one of the threads from back in 2012. This porting thing is quite a polarizing subject....very interesting read. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/279504-ported-barrels-pros-cons.html

passed up a 442 magnaport this morning....

Still shopping for a 442/642 for my daughter.....I came across one of several last night on GB that was listed as a 2012 tri-color magnaport edition. The price was right(it went for $300)but I just didn't think it would be the right choice for her 1st SD weapon. Supposedly, the porting reduces...

A .357 Magnum revolver to look for

Another recommendation for the 586 or 686. I've had my 586 since the late 80's & wouldn't part with it. After reading this thread I see a few other models I'd like to have as well!

    My "rescued" Mod 10-5

Nice work! I love to see something neglected brought back to life. I've brought back a couple of old tractors, but no guns....yet. :-)

    CCW for my daughter

1st thing she told me when she saw one in pink was "don't even think about it, mine will be black or stainless"...
