If you're not shooting bullseye, then any 148 grain lead bullet would be pretty good. All the manufacturers you mentioned would approximately group the same at 25 yards. Load the least expensive bullet and go have fun.

I used one when I was with 2nd and 3rd Recon Bn's. I see them often at gun shows. Now that high power rifle shooters don't need spotting scopes at matches that use electronic targets, I think there will be more being sold off.

Bullets have slowly risen in price the last few years. Primers and powder have risen exponentially the last few years. With an average of $55.00 for powder, and $95.00 for primers, plus 30 cents for bullets, a 44 magnum round is costing about 50 cents to make yourself if you have the empty case...

Which style butt frame is most predominant on the Model 34 with the 4 inch barrel, the round butt or square butt? Does one bring a higher premium over the other?

Mine have taken many grouse. I will be selling one as I am starting to reduce my doubles of handguns.

You have a great collection. I traded my model 56 in .22 short because it never had the accuracy of the model 69 or 75. I sold my model 52C once I quit high power competition. I am occasionally on the lookout for a Model 56 in .22 LR.

The kit guns have smaller grips, older ones are on I frames and newer ones on J frames.
