What revolver have you had the longest?

I have a Ruger Super Single Six, 22-22magnum. My Dad bought it for me in 1969. I still have it and it is still very accurate. I would guess this little gun has had several thousand rounds run through it, never a problem, the blueing is a little worn, and the butt has a couple dings in it (used...

my brother in law hooked me up (pictures added)

I have one I bought 4 yrs ago with the combat stocks it's also a no dash gun. Have to say, hands down it is my accurate revolver. My old Ruger Super Single Six, that has digested 1,000s of rounds since 1968, comes in a very close second.

what's the gun you most regret NOT buying?

It was 1967 or 1968 and you could take your pick from dozens of M1 carbines for $35 or the Argentine Cavalry models for $25. Under my Dad's infulence I did buy a 1903A3 (Remington) for $35. The 1903A3, well that one can and should be posted on the "Guns I Regret Selling" thread.

    Christmas 2011

I got a used model 29-5 with a full lug 6" barrel classic from my oldest son. it was a pawn shop find. No box no papers or tools. No wear to speak of and it's tight too. The funny thing is, we got him a brand new 629 classic for Christmas with a full lug 5" barrel.

    model 648

648 Thanks Rawhyde, I guess I'm lucky. The one I have has no dash on it, just 648. Smith and Wesson must have not made many of them, because it is rare to see one listed on any of the auctions. Thanks again.

    Hellow from Texas

Hi, I just found S-W forum yesterday. Looks like a pretty good one. I'll be checking this forum often, I like the fact that it is not a generic gun forum. Looking through some of the posts, it also looks like there is some good information being put out by the many good folks out there.

    model 36

New member here, hello. I have a model 36-1 with a 3" barrel and round butt. I have never fired it before and it looks like it hasn"t been fired since it left the factory either. So I don't want to mess up. The papers in the box say to use standard loads and not to use high pressure loads. Later...

I just joined the forum yesterday, and I have tried using the search but no luck. Maybe I'm not doing it right, so right now I'll just ask the memebers. I would like some information on the model 648, like what years were they made, are they any good, what are they worth. I bought one from a...
