The perfect carry - Model 65

Perfect Gun 3” 65. I agree. I carried one for client protection back in the day. Sold it, hurting for cash. Wife’s bills add up fast! Dang it

New 1911 DW Heritage— small problem

DW 1911 Screw Bushing Not quite the same problem, but my brother has a Sig 40 Elite with wood grips. The grip screws kept backing out all 4. Tried nail polish and blue Loctite, same thing. Super Glue cured it. One range sessions one of the screws fell out before that treatment. Screws are...

Colt Python 4” nickel with Eliason Sights

The Trooper and it’s predecessor, the 357 Magnum are fine revolvers, I’ve had one of each 4”. Great guns but I prefer a heavier barrel and bought the shooter Python. I can’t tell much difference in the action but My Python has 2.5 lb trigger with never a failure. Compare it a new or even an...

Going down the Ruger PC Carbine Rabbit Hole.....

Ruger PC9 Friend tells me they will be available in FDE with fiber optic front sight....I really like the ghost ring rear sight. Great but I’d like to see it on a rail for a longer sight radius. I’m old and can’t see an open rear sight, ghost ring on a rail would be idea. I’m sure all will...

Colt DA Stuff from Old Catalogs

If you want some interest in mid 70’s Colt DA revolvers, type in 1975 Colt Agent or any other from that period. There’s old catalog pages that I remember well, being 71. I had ‘74 catalogue but I can’t locate it. Enjoyable, new Agents, Cobras, Pythons. The latter 2 were like $175. I’ve been...

Colt Python 4” nickel with Eliason Sights

Colt 4” Nickel Python Pythons are collectibles in LNIB or NIB, but not for me. They to me are just very accurate, hand tuned revolvers. The collectible factor has driven up the price of all of them. I love my earlier Smiths but my Python has a 2.5 lb factory trigger pull and is the most...

Colt Python 4” nickel with Eliason Sights

Python Horsepuckey. It’s individual preference. The 2nd or 3 rd Gen stocks are fine, the 3rd gen with raised checkering is horrible, especially DA. I’d like to try the Thailand full checkered. They do make excellent stuff. I’m a Colt nut. Maybe I’ll move there!

Colt Python 4” nickel with Eliason Sights

Nickel Python 4” I never thought this was collectible, I bought it used for a shooter and have about 3500 rds 38 thru it and a handful of 357. The NOS Eliason front and rear sights, although not original to the gun, were considered an upgrade and were prfofessionly installed. The stocks are...

Colt Python 4” nickel with Eliason Sights

Old Guns,Old Man, fixin’ to get a gobbler!

Turkey Hunt this Spring. Old man. Ok, that’s no hindrance. I have a like new Parker Trojan 12 gauge that was my grandfathers, 1922. Use Federal ammo for old guns, 1 oz shot, but I’ve been to turkey shoots with 2 3/4” magnum. They’ll handle these easily. Chamber area looks about 3/16” thick.

    is a 12-3 a steel cylinder

12-3 I’ve had 2” 12-2 and 12-3 nickel, both had steel cylinders. The 12-2 was an Ohio Dept. of Correction gun but no special markings. The -2 was much smoother da than 12-3, but I think that’s an individual thing. Great guns, the J frame is too small for my hands with standard grips, the K...
