    Yes, Airweights may take some getting used to. When I first tried my 638 same result. They can hurt after about 50 rounds. If it is a new gun, try dry firing it a bunch to work in the action, and practice. You will be fine.

    Thanks for the replies. I was planning for it to be my new carry gun, but I do practice with my carry gun enough that I wanted to make sure it would stand up to regular monthly practice. I usually shoot a box of 50 per month for about 9 months of the year.

    Thanks. I picked up a barely used revolver Model 19-6, 4" barrel, checked wood target grips. I am guessing the gun is from the early 1990's. This is my first S&W and also my first 357/38 cal. Here in Nevada, so long as you are more than 5,000 feet from a dwelling or structure, not in area...
