Once again I watched the Steve McQueen classic, " Bullitt" on TCM. What gun did McQueen carry in this film? Not all that important, perhaps a bit esoteric, but I am just curious.
I guess it was a case of it being there now and no assurance how long it would have stayed. I didn't think I did too bad, although had there been an L frame there for an affordable price (for me, anyway) I might have gone for that. It's all about budgets.
What I need to determine is a pleasant...
I found something
I went to a local shop and I spotted a S&W Model 19-3 in decent shape, very tight to I decided to trade a Norinco 1911 which I never use at all. I had to pay a balance but I am happy with the gun I got.
Thanks for all the advise. Yes, when I reload .357's, I would make them like a plus p .38. I don't need to impress anyone on the range how I can take recoil. :)
There are a couple of shops around here that sell used guns and one of them would accept a shipment from an internet site and honor...
I am going to look for something used to practice with. I have a lot of .357 brass as well as .38 Sp. brass so I would prefer a .357. I am not stuck on any particular gun, but I would like to have something with adjustable sights and a 4 inch barrel. My father had an M19 many years ago and it...
There is a very tiny scatch on my new 642 Airweight. (dull silver finish) This is a stainless cylinder, alloy frame. It's not at all a big deal but I was wondering if there is a preferred paint just to touch it up.
I really like the gun but I don't shoot it much.
I shot some 130 grain RP semi wadcutters today and it felt alright. As I wrote already, this won't be a gun I pick up and shoot every day. I have had reloading dies for a long time but I don't really see the need for that unless I buy another .38 revolver. Before I got it I was thinking about...
I picked up my new S&W 642 today and I got to fire it a few times. I didn't hit anything much, but that is due to a lack of practice, obviously. I owned a 640 in .357 many years ago and I lament that I sold it many years ago. The new gun is pretty nice and I am relieved that I did not save a few...
S&W VS a Taurus
I could have bought a Taurus 850 for a little less money but I opted for the S&W due to it's reputation. I think the Taurus would be alright for occasional use, however.
Thanks!
Fortunately, it's not a target pistol. Once I get it test fired and I am accustomed to it, I don't see myself shooting it all that much. I might load up some light 110 or 125 grain ammo just to shoot it.
I just ordered a S&W 642 stainless 38 special. I owned a Centennial in .357 many years ago but alas, I sold it. I am mostly a high power rifle competitor.
