You can find a Glock for under $500 out the door. I find the model 23 to be the perfect autoloader for carry. The Ruger SR40c is a close 2nd and less expensive. I didn't like the Springfield XD series, but if you find a 1911 used for under $500 grab it!

I really like the Don Hume H715 IWB. I wear it at 8:30 (lefty) without fear of printing.

My semi-daily carry 642 has a lock. That lock has never weighed on my mind. However, when I get it's brother, the 442, I think I will hold out for the NL, just because the hype on the forums give me pause.
