If they make the cartridge with a cheaper aluminum case they are going to reduce the cartridge cost. So one has to think what else are they cheapening up??? The powder??? the primers?? They are going for the cheapest cartridge they can make and sell for the cheapest price.

Be careful keeping the gun in its box. They have a tendency to rust on the side touching the liner in the box. You can put it up a little on toothpicks so it doesn't touch the liner.

I don't know what bullets are in my 38, I have loaded it with whatever I had around a year or so ago. I'm sure that I bought a box of bullets based on price and that is what is in the gun. I figure that any bullet that I shoot at the bad guy will do the job.

Since there are 2 versions just buy them both and when you find out which one fits just send the other one back for a refund.

I believe you can buy checkering tools at Numrich. Not really that hard to do but takes a lot of time because you have to work slowly. I think they have a video on rechecking too.

Personally I wont buy a gun without some sort of safety, preferably a thumb safety. I don't like the grip safety on some pistols, just prefer a thumb safety on at lease one side of the gun.

I looked at the S&W guns and also the 7.5" Ruger Super Redhawk. I ended up buying the Super Redhawk and the 5.5" Redhawk. It was the trigger that convinced me to buy these. The trigger on the Redhawks is the best, smoothest, most perfect trigger of any production gun out there.
