    J frame target ammo

Thanks guys I guess I will go back to the pachmyer grips for carry and range and just live with the extra length.

    J frame target ammo

I do have a set of pachmayr grips that work for recoil, but prefer to practice with the stock boot grips that I use when carrying. I usally fire target Winchester or American Eagle in 130 grain.

    J frame target ammo

I don't shoot my 642 much because of the painful recoil. I don't reload. So what factory load would be recommended to have the least felt recoil?

How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

They currently sell here in NE Ohio for $379. Two years ago someone offered a used one for best offer, I offered $375. His reply was go f------- yourself. Now its a tossup between the shield and the ruger lc9s pro.

    642-2 going back again

ShinySix, My 642 has been back to S&W two times since 2010, first time they replaced the Hand and repaired the Extractor Rod, the second time, same as yours, the hammer stud broke away from the frame. They replaced the frame only ( I believe they used my original inside parts). I feel your pain...

Love revolvers, but carry a semi

I hear you Vito. I would rather carry my Ruger SR9C than my S&W 642. The Ruger trigger is ten times better than that long hard pull on the Smith. When it's not practical to carry the Ruger, the Smith goes in my pocket with a pocket holster.

    Another K22 story

Thanks Arjay, 1948 that sounds correct, as I said I thought it was at least 60 years old. Should I be concerned that the numbers on the butt and cylinder are different than the ones on the frame and crane area? Does this not make this gun authentic? Fiveshot

    Another K22 story

I would like to find out the age, anyone have a clue of how I go about this. It has numbers on frame, cylinder butt and crane area, all match except the No. on the butt...
