S&W service policy issue (and a bit of a rant)

I have had the same experience with S&W. I have been a long time loyal fan. Companies in this day don't stand by their product. Sad but true.

    Shield .45 problem

S and W informed me that it should be delivered this week but won't tell me anything about the repair. I believe that I should be told what happened and what the repair consist of. I have owned Smiths for over 50 years. This concerns me.......

    Shield .45 problem

I just spoke to the SW repair, my gun has been there since early March and they have not gotten to it yet. They must either have a lot of repairs or not enough personnel. I least I have additional weapons to carry off duty but I was beginning to enjoy it. Oh well, life's to short to worry about it.

    Shield .45 problem

You are correct, I believe it will be shorter than 10 weeks. I guess I am lucky, I have been a firearm owner for over 50 years and only had to send 3 back for repairs, all were from different manufacturers. Thanks for your military service Ken. I appreciate what you did for our country. Jerry

    Shield .45 problem

Case was removed, FMJ were being used, slide was locked against the barrel and would not move, no other option but to send it back to the factory. A new gun should not have that kind of a problem.

I called SW and was told it may be 10 weeks before repair. Oh well, guess I will have to CC my Ruger.
