+1 This is correct. Also, bore snakes are great especially midway through long shooting sessions where a thorough cleaning isn't going to happen or on the rifle range (for precision shooters) where accuracy could be compromised from a very dirty barrel.

The S&W 1911PD is a great choice for a 1911. Recoil is felt more than a steel frame but it's not bad at all. In addition, if you decide to carry it the lighter frame makes it comfortable to wear all day.

I have a Nikon Pro Staff mounted on my AR. I don't have a ton of experience with top end long range scopes (which this isn't) but I'm happy with it. Easily more than 500 rounds and the scope holds zero. Definitely a good value. It's not a cheapo piece of junk.

2011 marked the centennial celebration of the 1911 so they are in demand right now. The e series is still relativley new so demand outweighs supply. As for the ruger sr1911, it seems you have to look but I've seen them for about $700-$800 new in stores (granted they only have 1 or 2) in stock.
