Yes I used the range rod on my custom PPC revolver. Yeah tighter tolerance is probably the answer. I will get a regular attachment.

After cleaning my 686 I tried to use the range rod and it gets stuck as it gets close to the forcing cone. Is that normal? I am using the match range rod if it matters. I used a camera to look at the grooves and lands it they appear to be clean.

Hornady one shot needs to dry a bit. One thing that I did for my straight wall pistol cases only is the imperial wax trick. Get a q tip and rub a very small amount of imperial wax on it and I mean small, now wipe that q tip around the mouth of the sizing die.

You can get those bulges out with a lee AP press , they have a pass through sizer. That was mostly an issue with early 40 cal glocks
