629 vs. 629 Mountain Gun recoil

That was a mistake in the script or how the line was delivered. It was supposed to be something like "special light magnum load." If you look at the way the gun recoils, it certainly isn't firing .44 Specials, in fact it doesn't look like it is firing light magnum loads.

Need info on a .32-20 Spanish S&W clone

I think a gun similar to the one that you are referencing is for auction here. I realize that you probably don't want to buy it, but I ran across it after reading your post. It is not my gun nor do I have any relation to the seller: Lot Detail - (C) SPANISH O.H. DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER.

Underwood 68gr defender out performs every hollow point

The Marshall Sanow one-shot stop percentages are nonsense because they deliberately exclude situations when one shot was not enough to stop someone and additional shots had to be fired. Successes are meaningless unless you factor in failures. And Marshall & Sanow's numbers do not factor in...

Underwood 68gr defender out performs every hollow point

The point is that the people who wrote the so-called study are lying and have no credibility.

Underwood 68gr defender out performs every hollow point

That test is nonsense. There were no agencies involved in that so-called report. There is no mention of the agencies involved, half of the rounds tested were boutique ammo.

Models 24/624, is any problem with barrel using hotter handloads?

I think this is an excellent thread. I have some Underwood and Buffalo Bore 200 grain JHP loads that have a listed velocity of 1100 feet per second. Are these safe to shoot in my model 24 and my model 624? thanks

    357 Ammo for Lightweight Snubby

There are many departments have claimed that Marshall and Sanow grossly misrepresented the information they provided, or that shootings that Marshall and Sanow attributed to their department never took place. Further, Marhsall and Sanow exclude all situations where one shot failed to stop a...

Popularity versus utility in concealable EDC?

Their methodology is nonsensical. They deliberately failed to count situations where one shot was fired and it failed to stop someone so that more shots needed to be fired. How can they possibly claim to calculate one-shot stops when you deliberately exclude situations where one shot was not...

Popularity versus utility in concealable EDC?

You are not going to be able to note the percentage that did not stop from Marshall and Sanow because they deliberately excluded situations where one shot was not enough and additional shots had to be fired. They have been debunked since the mid to late 1990s. Many departments where they...

Popularity versus utility in concealable EDC?

I don't need to look very hard to find instances of criminals shot with a variety of weapons who did not run off but instead kept fighting or even returned fire: "A 75-year-old woman opened fire on two intruders who broke into her Oakland home and came under fire herself, authorities said. "...

Popularity versus utility in concealable EDC?

Look closely at that study. It uses bad methodology. Bad methodology or bad design leads to an inaccurate and invalid study and conclusion. The author of that study, Gregg Ellifritz, is an amazing resource on defensive issues. He is a great teacher with a strong background in Law enforcement...

Popularity versus utility in concealable EDC?

The one-shot stop was nonsense because they deliberately ignored situations where one shot was fired and failed to produce a stop requiring additional shots to be fired.

    NYPD M36-1 HB 3" #458815 - Historically Significant?

Another fantastic post by RM Vivas. I have a fondness for NYPD revolvers since I am originally from New York City. When I was a young kid I remember seeing revolvers in police officer's holsters. Even when I got my first NYC handgun permit in 1984, revolvers were still the main gun carried by...

Liabilty Insurance in a Constitutional Carry State

The Democrats are not going to mandate these programs because they HATE them as evidenced in NY State, Washington State, and one other state where they have banned them. These programs do not reimburse the person or people shot or provide a payout to them, but rather help pay for the legal...

Liabilty Insurance in a Constitutional Carry State

People on the left hate companies like CCW Safe. In fact States like New York, New Jersey, and Washington have prohibited companies like this from offering self defense insurance in their state. Programs like CCW Safe are there to handle your legal bills if you get in a self defense...

I have a 4" 624 inbound that I would like to put a front sight with a red insert front sight blade and a white outline rear sight. I am going to have this done because I cannot pickup the flat black front sight or the rear sight. I have a Lew Horton 3" barrelled roudbutt model 624 that came...

    S&W 624 rear sight question

Does anyone know the width of the rear sight on the S&W 624? I am planning to put different sights on my S&W 624 and need the width of the rear sight as it comes from the factory to be able to proceed. t pick up the black sights so I am going with a red front ramp sight and a rear sight with a...
