I bent out my magazine catch like the picture above and put 50 rounds through my Shield 40. Not a single malfunction! Before, my Shield was dropping magazines on the first 3 shots with the extended mag +1 in the tube.

Heard some people having luck with filling magazine and letting it sit a couple days to loosen up the spring. Not sure how that would work but I guess it's easy enough to at least give it a try!
