Anyone know of a good revolver smith in Arizona? Updated post #10, looking for info from our resident armorers!

Gotta give a huge recommendation for my buddy, Nelson Ford. What's the old commercial line, "simply the best."

    Lets see the mini handguns

I have a Beretta 21A in 22LR I have in my pocket with a shot shell chambered when I walk my dogs here in AZ. Also a PPK/S. Everyone knows these. How about this one though? LLAMA Especial III chambered in 380 ACP. Roughly a 7/8 scale 1911. Weighs 23 oz. 3.7" barrel. Mag holds 7. A tad...

No more Bullseye! What are you switching to?

For me, W-231 works well and clean for most handgun calibers

Two .38 Specials inherited, help identify?

Thank you KSCHARLIE. I guess I was confused by difference in nomenclature and did not know they were interchangeable. My apologies to the OP for any misinformation.

Two .38 Specials inherited, help identify?

I have no experience with the "38 S&W Special" cartridge so am only offering a potential cautionary thought. If you plan to start shooting these two, I think you need that specific cartridge, not the common "38 Special" cartridges because they have different lengths and diameters.

    1955 Target Model

Great photos. Another project for me is to learn better photography with proper backgrounds, etc.

    1955 Target Model

The smooth ones need to be refinished as they have a few rough spots. My next project I guess.

    1955 Target Model

I've been reloading Auto Rim since the 80s when I bought my 6" 25-2 for a whopping $317 with tax.

    1955 Target Model

Sometimes I cannot help myself. I turn 80 this year and keep telling my wife that I will try to sell some things so she isn't left with them if I precede her. Then I see this advertised and couldn't resist: 1955 45 CAL TARGET MODEL. Serial s275xxx, so 1966-67 according to my 3rd Edition...

How best to sell most of my guns.

I'm in a similar position. Hitting 80 in a few months with not great health. I probably need to start listing things because I have no one to leave them to and my wife would not know what to do with them if I passed. Problem is that I open the safe and see too many things I hate to part with.

If only five, what would they be

    If I could only keep 5 that I have today: (all 6") 25-2, 14-1, 29-2, 28-2, 17-3. So close I'd hate to part with them: 48-4, 25-5, 27-2 (5"), 19-3 (2.5"), 17-4 (8 3/8").

    Model 25 Decision?

I have a 25-2 and a 25-5, both made in 1980, blue, 6 inch with TT, TH,TS with red ramp front & white outline rear sights. You cannot go wrong either way. I hate moon or half-moon clips so I bought a bunch of 45 Auto Rim brass many years ago and have been a happy camper ever since.

    new to me 5" S prefix 27-2

I think I have its brother also from 1975.

Model 28-2's and red ramp front sights

I bought this 6-inch 28-2 made in 1973 around 1992. It has a red insert front sight and a white outline rear. No box, but appears to factory to me.

Are Model 27-2s in 5" really more valuable?

Bought this 5-inch 27-2 made in 1975 for $1K a couple of years ago and thought I got a good deal

Two questions.. Average age and what got you started?

Age 78. Bought my first S&W revolver, a 28-2, during my last shore duty tour in 1988. I love beautiful bluing and wood stocks, so I have acquired quite a few more since then. I shoot all of them, but only buy if condition is excellent.

    S&W Model 48-4 22WMR

Nice! I bought mine in 2014 for $500, so I guess it's gone up in value. Nelson Ford added a gold dot to the Patridge sight and I put some target stocks on it. Love it and it shoots great. Like you, it's a brother for my 17s. Agree about the noise, but then I shot one of those KelTeks and...

    Model 41 Barrel Widths

I think the 5" barrel you are referring to was called a "Field Barrel." I found one last year.

    Model 46 barrel - 7"

S&W Model 46 seven-inch barrel with barrel under-lug weight. This will not fit in a Model 41 - I bought it advertised as for a 41 and experienced a learning lesson. It does not have the cutout in the attaching lug so will not fit a 41. It is in extremely good condition. $400 OBO including...
