    Question to y'all

I'm pretty sure I already insulted him when I told him that reloading isn't something that should be done when you have a wife that features a crisis every hour. I suggested that reloading may not be the thing for him. I may regret my big mouth!

    Question to y'all

Thank you to each of you, much appreciated. My books will also be going to him, and I've had the Lyman book for many years. I also have a selection of the specific data for each caliber booklets, which are tattered and dogeared from heavy use. I like the idea of finding a class, pretty sure...

    Question to y'all

My youngest son will be getting into reloading on his coming retirement. I sent him a book for beginners, and now want to also send him a book that's a little more advanced, likely from one of the major suppliers, Hornaday, Lyman, etc. I know this won't get many answers that will agree, and...

    A little help please.

Numbers on the butt are 60476. While I am a shooter, I'm not very knowledgeable about dating, but I always thought production of models, following granted patent applications, came fairly close. If this is what you think, what is the official name of the round it uses, not that anyone plans to...

    A little help please.

For reasons not entirely clear to me right now, I volunteered to help the widow lady of a recently departed friend evaluate and likely move her husbands firearms. They are few and no high dollar or exceptional ones (that I'm aware of), most need TLC that they have not had. He was not a...

Favorite 38 spl self defense load

I take seriously that SD is close in, whether at home or out and about. That being the case, my initial four rounds are 158 grs of #6 lead shot, in a Speer capsule, over 3.6 grs of Red Dot. Following rounds, should any be necessary, are 158 gr wadcutters over the same propellant. Both have...

    Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accessories"

No pics, but I found a Winchester 62 that needs a little help. Someone in it's past gave it an all over coat of nice thick varnish, which is coming off as I type this. Then into the mechanics of it. Wood is very decent, blue isn't real bad either, couple harsh scars on the end of the barrel...

Removing corroded batteries from a flashlight

Dura-cell replaced that exact same flashlight for me a number of years ago. Don't let 'em skate on yours. And....... ammonia eats up battery acid corrosion quickly.

    Wheeler's sale! Just FYI

I was looking online for some replacement tools for firearms, and happened across Wheeler's website. Right now they are having a sale, approximately half off, for their 89 piece, professional tool kit. It uses a fairly standard hex drive, screwdriver type handle, with insertable bits, and...

    Flitz??

Thank you to each of you, sounds like I don't want to use it on my old Winchesters. Maybe the aluminum wheels on the pickup though.

    Flitz??

Gentlemen, I have a question about Flitz (I think it's called). I've never seen it, not at all familiar with it, but I understand it's a pretty good polish, and can be used both on the iron and the wood. Could someone please bring me up to speed on where I can get it, and also how to use it. Is...

    Would you be upset?

Since I've never designed a gun of any kind, and owning a 36 no dash, your post and the replies interested me. I've had my 36 for a tad more than 40 years, and fed it mostly my own reloads. I also have a Model 10 that I've had for about the same time. Obviously I load for it too, BUT....... I do...

Model 36 question for those who have done this successfully.......

I took my 36 no dash apart for a thorough cleaning, for the first time since I've had it. (about 40 years) It wasn't horrible, but I did find a couple worn/broken parts. Don't misunderstand, I have had the sideplate off for a decent cleaning and oiling numerous times. It HAS been maintained. It...

    Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accessories"

Hemi, 2 questions to you....... I like the wood grips on the one in the foreground, but notice that there is no visible magazine in that one. 1. what grips are they? 2. do they prevent use of the extended 7 round mag with the pinkie finger bottom end? Thanks.
