    625-3 (4") VS. 625-4 (5")

The 4th Edition has a nice informational rundown on the 625 series. The initial run was in 5" (-2). Later production introduced the 4" & 3". I've had 1 pair of -3 4" for some time , both "Model of 1989" marked. The 3 & 4 inch revolvers were produced in much lesser quantities Winter & Spring...

First firing of the venerable Model 547

IIRC, and sometimes I don't, the 547 had a frame mounted firing pin. Like other k-frame .22's. Possibly a case colored k-frame combat(semi target) or even a target hammer from a K-22 would fit? I'd like to know too. I seem to recall the bobbed hammer being something about hammer-recoil with...

    610-2. 3 7/8 unfluted, pre lock .

Factory .40's in my 5" 610 (ND) are fairly tame. Lot of "N" frame weight. Use combination of S&W, Ranch & RIM moons. With the factory .40's in my "L" frames, they are a little snappier. Less weight, 4" & titanium cylinders.

    Flea Market 29-2

Only one nickel 29. I really miss several nickle Smith's from years gone by. Still trying to replace them one at a time

Correct grips for my Model 15-3 [not a 19-3] square butt snubnose.

Sometimes it's DeJa'Vu,,,, Quite a while back, I bought a nice clean M-15 2" box from a friend. Hung onto it. Last year I bought THE M15-3 that belonged to that box!. He kept it stored in a GunSock separate from the box. Pretty minty Good Karma either way. Reunited again

Finally found the needle in the haystack…

Anything "L",,,,,, gets my attention. Not that J's, K's, & N's don't have a place here. Great catch on a fine revolver! My only 2.5" 686. It was adopted from a Gander Mountain store some years back. IIRC, it was priced like a well-worn M&P. It's a Lew Horton and yes,,, I have the Combats too...

    Dayton 14-2 Hanen Special

Great catch on a hard-to-find revolver. I've but one 14-2 "Hanen". It's a favorite! It resides with a younger 15-5 HB "Combat Masterpiece". Similar handling but your just cannot replicate that 1960's fit, finish & action.

Model 15-1 and Little Brother (model 43)

Very nice pair! Really drawn to the grips on the 43. Vintage Hogues? I like a covered backstrap on my J frames and most grips go the minimalist route

    Finally Got Me a 5" Model 27

THAT is beautiful 5"no dash!! MIne has seen more use but it's a birth-year revolver for me

    They do exist. 686 MG

If this is a sign of future S&W production, I think it's heading the right direction. Function is high priority but I'll admit my "collecting brain" does get hung up on aesthetics. I'm glad to see a step back from the blackened hammer, triggers and screws. It's nice to see flash chromed again...

Victory of the BAVARIA MUNICIPAL POLICE

An excellent example of post-WW2 armament. Various allied small arms were provided to the new Provincial governments during the reconstruction period. I've seen a few U.S. M1 carbines so marked. I previously owned a S&W 1917 that had been marked "VICHY" by the Nazi-installed French regime (circa...
