Changing main spring on L Frame revolver.

I have that tool as well. Just too impatient to look thru my bubba smith box to find it. I just use a small flathead to compress the spring and shove it in. I also have a very patient and kind wife with great vision to find lost springs and a God who hasnt allowed my eyes to be pierced by...

Changing main spring on L Frame revolver.

Just do it right. Side plate needs to come off. The only hard part is sourcing the right screwdriver. Use the right screwdriver for this job.

    686-6 Plus 3-5-7 5" 2023 Production year

Round to square conversions and shoot till dirty. If you feel inclined and the finish isnt too deep, I forgot what stainless steel coarseness I used but a couple of passes and everything was all evened out.

    Rebound spring for 317-3

Just as an FYI i have never had much luck with 12#or under in any smith. Triggers needed to be manually reset. 13# is minimum and 14# is never worry territory. On the 22lr guns i would prefer to leave factory rebound spring factory as I have found it doesnt affect my accuracy as much with all...

    4” 63 questions

Regardless, hope it gets used (a lot!) and makes memories with the grandkids

1/2 inch more or less, not buying it.

The 4” 1911 belongs on a CCO imo. That said the Commander in my safe is new and the CCO has lots of carry wear. And a 3” 686 should have gone home w/ you

Got me a 629-2 Mountain Revolver (EDIT: Range report on my most recent post)

Tac diamonds on a full house load should be decent. If too aggressive you can always smooth them out a Little with 600grit. Ive had to do that on carry grips that would sandpaper my backside.

Family wants to buy my .45acp revolver

Just my $0.02. If it wasnt a family member/ close friend I trusted enough to just lend it to for a few months or a year, then I wouldnt sell it to them either. If it was a really close family member I would probably gift it. These family members/ close friends would usually offer a fair...

    Apex Duty/Carry spring kit

I have jumped onto the plastic fantastic bandwagon for the time being. With the the way the world is going and additional church security responsibilities i want as many rounds on me as possible so it deletes the revolvers from the rotation for the foreseeable future

    Lyman 51st Edition…worth it?

My lyman 48th grew legs and walked when I loaned it to a friend. I took a look at the 51st at Bass Pro and decided to pick it up. It was worth it to me for the $25 give or take. Was a better value than the latest Lee manual which appears to cut and paste from the major mfrs website data.

    Potentially, an unpopular question!

How many of us practice our 3 point shot to the trash with SP 45 brass? Could I have saved up a couple hundred of em? Sure, but it just aint right Have seen 10mm coming out as SPP and some 308 brass coming in SRP but the benchrest guys usually keep those for themselves and not found loose at...

    reload 9mm?

I originally reloaded 9 to duplicate my Speer gold dot +p load. And yes in the past I wouldnt bother because it was so cheap. but after all the recent laws passed in my state (background checks and the new taxes to purchase ammo), the less big brother knows and the more self reliance I have...
