    1986 Beretta 92F question

Taurus bought the Beretta factory in Brazil I believe in the early 80’s. Along with all of Berettas tooling, plans and a Patent expiration came Beretta’s employees. They built the PT100 which is identical to the PT 96 (Beretta’s .40 cal) except they moved the safety from the slide to the frame...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Don’t laugh but I have a stainless Taurus PT100 in .40 (a much better round than a 92 Beretta). It was built in the Beretta Factory in Brazil when Taurus bought the factory which came with plans from Beretta, the Beretta tooling and even the same employees. They moved the safety to the frame...

    Short Barrel Shotgun

Rich, thank you for your service. Did you know Joe McKenna? He was a golf buddy of mine and a Lt. in Manhattan South Robbery Division during the same era.

    Taurus 82: worth it?

I’ve got the Smith Model 38 J frame very similar to both of those. Going to run a few errands and slip it in the front pocket.

    Your "COOLEST" Knife?

Not my prettiest knife as it’s always in my pocket but this Boker OTF has a strong spring, holds an edge nicely (I use a Ken Onion sharpener) and only needs one hand to open and close.

    Taurus 82: worth it?

I only own 1 Taurus and it’s a great and reliable shooter. That’s no surprise as this PT 100 was manufactured in a factory bought from Beretta in Brazil when Beretta had the contract for police and Brazil’s military. It’s a clone of the Beretta 92 or 96 in this case being a .40. Taurus had...

Do You Pocket Carry Your J Frame Daily?

I carry my Model 38 in a pocket holster made by a retired Minnesota police officer.

S&W 15-22 trigger doesn't reset with Aguila ammo.

Ditto on the CCI mini mag. Not one glitch in my 15-22.

    Concealed carry in Post Offices

One size doesn’t fit all. In NC both State and National Park users with a CC license may carry concealed. Unlike a surprising number of people here, I leave my weapon locked in the vehicle when going in any federal or state building including the Post Office. If you’re law abiding you...

    Model 38

Can’t comment on the finish but I love my model 38. Not the prettiest pistol but a great pocket gun. Don’t run +p in it.

In light of so many 9mm threads - list your 9mm pistols here!

I only own 2 in 9mm. An HK VP9 and a little Beretta APX carry.

Does anyone shoot anything other than 9mm?

I own a variety of calibers. A 38-3 Airweight in .38 is usually in my pocket. For security work I carry a HK VP9 or an Sig P226 in .40. Why the .40 has fallen from favor I don’t get it.

The Last Gun You'll Part With

That’s easy for me. My dad’s Winchester 1897 made in 1900. As a son of immigrants he was a subsistence hunter. It took down many a rabbit and pheasants. He bought it in the 40’s for $15. While I have other favorites (a model 38-3 that spends much time in my pocket and a Zoli 20 gauge SXS...

Ted Williams' Pre War .38 HE

I have an F.Illi Zoli 20 gauge SxS boxlock non ejectors that I never have had much success learning about. I think it was an Angelo Zoli who apparently made both cheap and high end guns. F.lli stands for Fratelli which means 'brothers' in Italian. But then I read Angelo and Antonio were not...

    Picked up a treasure today...

Very cool story. I have a Colt Lawman purchased new by a Vietnam vet friend in 1972 when he got home. Agent Orange finally took his life 3 years ago. At least the VA acknowledged the diagnosis and his wife is getting the checks. There is no amount of money I would take for this pistol...

Ted Williams' Pre War .38 HE

I had my father's 16 gauge SxS 'Ranger' shotgun which was stolen from my apartment 40 yeas ago. He always called it a Winchester Ranger and I never told him it was a Sears Ranger. Now I wonder if he was right. I found out years later it was a relative of my wife who broke in and stole it. He...

    Best Compact .45

I like my Kahr CW45. Great smooth as butter 5 pound trigger striker fired gun. Inexpensive too. The tolerances are very tight and there's a 200 round break in period during which we may get a few fte's. But after 100 rounds it's a sewing machine. Sent from my K88 using Tapatalk
