AFG - is magpul the only worthy one?

My M&P is a fun gun. I won't be storming any beaches or tactically defending my house with it. Spending $40 on a plastic grip seemed ridiculous. I bought a $7 knock off on eBay and it's working just fine. It isn't a finely crafted mechanical watch, it's a plastic grip.

    FTE issue with new 15-22

Repair report: My unit was having FTE about 1-3 times per 25 round magazine. Tried adjusting the ejector as much as possible, cleaning, lots of lube, almost no lube, every brand ammo I could get my hands on, no change. Gave it to Fed Ex on March 4, S&W received it on the 9th, sent it back on...

M&P 15-22 Brand New Failure To Eject (FTE)

Two things come to mind: 1) Language is REALLY important and the ability to be correct and precise with words is a good thing. Having a large vocabulary and using it correctly commands respect. 2) If Obama (or any democrat/gun control proponent) were to get on TV or be quoted about high...

    FTE issue with new 15-22

I dropped the rifle off at the Fed Ex store today. I called S&W and told them the issue and they immediately asked if I'd bent the ejector towards the ejection port and to give that a try. It only had a half mm or so between the ejector and bolt but bent it the rest of the way, no difference...

    Bolt Resistance?

I gave up. Went to the range again today after polishing the rails and moving the ejector as far as possible without hitting the bolt and still had about 6 FTE in the first 50 rounds. Boxed up and at the FedEx store now.

    Bolt Resistance?

While I understand the coated-for-a-reason argument I went ahead and got some 1000 grit paper and went over the rails for a bit and also bent them out just a fraction of a mm. The bolt now glides in there without any of the grittiness that it had. Smooth as silk and it is a small but noticeable...

    Bolt Resistance?

I contacted S&W regarding my FTE issues and right off the bat he suggested bending the ejector towards the ejection port, I've since done that so the ejector is now as far in as the bolt will allow. Not touching the bolt but atoms would have a squeeze getting in there. Haven't had a chance to...

    FTE issue with new 15-22

Unfortunately I'll be in touch with home base tomorrow regarding my 15-22. I've had it for about a month now and just haven't had any fun with it. I was hoping the FTE issues were it breaking in or my fault for over oiling it. Nope. Back to the range today for about the 4th time and out of 100...

    FTE Rate

I've tried a few different ammo types, Winchester Super X, Aguila HV, CCI mini mag, Federal match something or other. I can't seem to link the failures to any specific kind. As for the lube suggestions, it's possible I've been a bit heavy handed with it, my assumption being more lube =...

    FTE Rate

I'm relatively new to guns and very new to rifles, this is my first actually, picked it up about 2 weeks ago. I've been to the range with it 4 times now with a good cleaning and lube between each and am still having quite a few failure to ejects where the spent casing is caught in the bolt...
