    Model 69 Grips

Have a set of Diamond Pros I tried. I liked them but my knuckle didn't. Wound up with a set of X frame rubber grips. Looks kinda funny on the little 69 but are nice to shoot and WAY better than the stock ones.

My Truck Driving Days are Done

Had to retire from driving after 40+ years. Did mostly heavy haul and oversize. Interesting job. The game sure has changed over the years. Kinda miss the work but not the traffic , stupid cell phones made driving dangerous.

Spyderco knives - did a bit of research this morning and learned quite a bit!

I have carried a Dragonfly for about 30 years now. On my second one . Heavy haul / flat bed truck driver for 40 years and now retired. My first had the serrated blade and built in nylon clip that was part of the handle. Moved to the yellow salt version. Went for the straight blade this time ...

    Wish me luck☘️ PASSED!

What I did when I upgraded to General was I looking at multi mode radios and weighing the cost versus performance . Almost went with the 991 but decided since I already two 2 meter mobiles I went with a decent HF rig . Have one Icom 2300 as a base hooked up to a 12 foot Cushman yagi and have...

    Wish me luck☘️ PASSED!

Congrats on your new hobby . Hard to go wrong with a 7300 as a starter radio. I went with a 710 myself with a wire antennae . Simple and will do everything I need it to do for the foreseeable future. If you have a local radio club sometimes you can get a good deal on a used radio.

Anyone get a daily "news" paper delivered?

Used to get the local paper . Then the ads started being most of the content. Then they were taken over and went far to the left. No thanks. And you cant even read the online version without a subscription.

    Gun price complaints

It is hard to accept the overall face value of gun prices lately. Used to pay a couple hundred for lever guns all day long. Now it seems they are very collectable . And many new ones seem getting away from the ole walnut and blued steel I grew up with . On a side note my newly adopted hobby gets...

    Lactose intolerant

Yup,it reared its ugly head when I got in my 50's. Used to eat ice cream on an almost daily basis . Gave it and cheese up for a week and the results confirmed it. Hard to accept since I like ice cream ,cheese and Mac n cheese. Tried all the alternative dairy products with cereal and couldn't...

I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH FOR 7 YEARS ABOUT BUYING THIS KNIFE - DECISION MADE!

Being raised on a farm and spending the last 40+ years as a flatbed and heavy haul truck driver has taught me a lot about knives. I have a drawer with a small collection of blades. But when it all comes down to the most used and carried a Spyderco Dragonfly sees the most use. A Buck 112 and a...

Looking for a good cross draw holster for 6” K22 Outdoorsman

I have the Cyclone 111 for my S&W 69 and it works fine . Mine is only 4.25 but I dont see any reason it wont work with yours. Went with a cross draw since my Jeep has bucket seats with high sides .

    Pedals too close together.

Used all the gears very often. I did a lot of heavy haul and lowboy . Some of it off road also. Many of my rigs had 2 speed rear ends also.

    Pedals too close together.

A big fan of the Pete 379 with a Cat 3406B and 18 speed . Many miles put down with that combo. :)

    Pedals too close together.

My wife always complains about this to me. Just the way I have driven since I learned to drive.

    Pedals too close together.

Only for stop lights. If I had to use a clutch for shifting the tranny wouldn't last long. Just the way I was taught 40+ years ago.

    Pedals too close together.

I had the same problem with Peterbilts also.
