N frame grips for small hands

Not much difference in this view. Noticeably slimmer in the bottom picture and feel the difference in hand. ( sorry for the bad cell phone images)

N frame grips for small hands

Altamont “Coke” grips seem to have a smaller profile in the hand. Would be decent for shooting. Their finish is a dead giveaway that they aren’t real cokes though

moving my herd east, looking for advice

Not sure exactly where your start and finish points are. Looks like your only real trouble state is potentially Illinois. If you cross Missouri from KC to St. Louis, you can go around St. Louis to the south and go south far enough to miss southern Illinois without too much of a detour. I’ve...

    Knifeless Ex-Seal?

Our society armchair quarterbacks way too much. The dude acted/reacted in the moment and a life was saved. But no, we gotta nitpick. Do we not have anything better to do?

Mini Rant - Drive right, pass left!!

My step brother was very passive aggressive about this. He would sit in the left lane and act oblivious. He knew full well he was pissing people off and enjoyed it. Not one of his better qualities.

What gun are you on the lookout for?

Looking for a few S&W’s but the gun I never thought I would have showed up on another forum. Traded a custom S&W 38/44 heavy duty for it (and some $$). Should have it next week.

Common courtesy not so common these days.

I agree with the OP even though I sometimes failed at this when I was young. Just a tempering comment: etiquette allows anywhere from 3 months to one year to respond to wedding gifts. The thanks seem less sincere though when the interval gets long.

    Musing on why/what we collect

I was late to the gun game as I didn’t grow up with gun people. My buddy who was LEO was into newer H&K pistols I started looking at that stuff but the found the P7 squeeze cockers. These were my very first guns. I then got introduced to 1911’s and that addiction bit hard. I decided early on...

    Pre Mixed 2 Cycle Fuel

I used to “eyeball” the mixture and just keep topping off the can. I only used my chainsaw every year or two. It ran fine. Until it didn’t. Ended up with scored cylinder wall on a low hour Stihl. Lesson learned. I use the premix.

    prostate cancer treatment question

Every case of prostate cancer is different. That is why there is no single best treatment. I would suggest you get a second opinion just for your own peace of mind. Consider MD Anderson in Houston.

    Nighthawk Custom 1911's Comments Please

Baers are good guns but more utilitarian. Nighthawk is a little more refined and will let you customize more than the others you mentioned. I would add Guncrafter Industries to your list as well. If I were to be buying another 1911, I’d go with Nighthawk or GI.

    Case Pocket Knives

These three were bought as a set. I carry the middle one the most. Looks like the marbling is wearing off of it.

    Your least favorite S&W revolver

Sold the three in my avatar because the stubby magnums were no fun to shoot. Wish I had the 657 PC back though. Value is going crazy with those.

    RIP Tom Lehrer, musical satirist

Dude was a twisted genius. Would love to hear what he would come up with for our current political /social landscape!
