The recoil buffers suck by the way, pistol malfed (first ever with this example) on the 5th round and “ate” the buffer. Would not recommend to answer my own question from the beginning.

No to the hammer spring, gonna keep it all factory weight recoil spring or otherwise. I will give the buffers a try and if they don’t mess with function I will run them.

Thanks for the reply! I’m a little hesitant to run extra power springs. I was running Wolff 18 or 19LB springs in my first 4006TSW when the frame cracked. While I agree that it is the camming action of the slide opening that can put stress on the lugs, I think it also put wear on it when closing...

It must just be the way it looks after the laser etching, the 3914TSW looks kinda the same. Not many melonite pistols with the TACTICAL! Banner so it really pops when it’s not on stainless.

Some here posted this picture awhile ago, serial number is covered but this would be the holy grail. I have 3 4006TSW CHP guns and a WVPSC 4566TSW. Love these pistols. If S&W were to make the pistol in this picture today (with good QC of course) they would make a killing.

Had an old x200 end cap I tried to file, removed enough material till the pivot for the toggle was showing and it still wouldn’t fit. By the looks of it an old cap may be able to be filed down to fit but I don’t have a spare to try. Trying to find old spare end caps also seems like a fleeting...

I have removed the old plastic “bumper” to mount on sigs in the past. Tried a A model with the removed bumper and that also didn’t work. So it sounds like filing will be the only bet then?

Add 8810 to the list. One thing I saw interesting is the markings under the grip it appears they labeled it twice then laser marked over the top with the serial number. Never seen that on any other tsw.

A likely answer would be it was a FOF (force on force pistol) at some point ( this would explain the refinish). Maybe yellow gun was a now defunct company that did the conversion to sim or something that a armorer put on the pistol ironically.
