    Alphabet soup stamped revolver

Disregard, got my answer. BACKI acronym is used by Baker Correctional Institution in Florida.

    Alphabet soup stamped revolver

I type with two fingers, I can't get the spelling on my username corrected, and you want photos?

    Alphabet soup stamped revolver

I have a Model 14-7 with the left side of the frame below the cylinder stamped "BAKCI2xxx." Stamping is light, uneven and seems hastily done, with the "B" double stamped and the second number over-stamped and hard to read. Gun came from the Midwest. I emailed the dealer to see if he had any...

Have I become an original box & grips snob?

Not at all! That's how they're supposed to be when you're paying for one in top condition. And no one who likes S&W revolvers has any sense of proportion or reason. Almost as bad as Winchester collectors.

    New alternate duty revolver suggestions

Your choice entirely. Personally, I'd stay with the department issued or approved firearm that I ordinarily carried, trained and qualified with. Same gun, same drill, all the time. Bored? Bored is perfect. It means handling that particular firearm has become so routine you can run it in the...

    Bringing back long-barreled k frames

I emailed S&W quite some time ago asking if they would consider introducing a k-frame .38 or 357 with a heavy six inch barrel. To paraphrase the response: "keep looking at the website for new products." Ok, some other time then. Ideally, I'd like a Model 14-6 or 14-7 with the full...

Smith and Wesson model 19-2 "shortened " Goncalo Alves diamond target grips

Did the same Boot Grip cut to a used set of rosewood grips back in the 80's myself. They fit my hand very well. If you think that's ugly try hockey taped synthetic grips on S&W automatics.
