I inherited a S&W 686 .357. Love the thing. It has a hammer with attached firing pin (one piece). Serial # AYF9xxx. How old is this guy. Should I carry on an empty cylinder due to the firing pin construction ? Any answers appreciated. This is my first post so be nicey.

I own both. Bought the ultradyne apollo first. It just about totally eliminated jump/ recoil but the blow back suffocated me as well as fogged the scope. Replaced it with the Lantac dragon which has no blow back and provides adequate muzzle stability. I really wanted to like the Ultradyne but....
