    Inherited a gun

very nice looking revolver! I agree with previous posters as 1K is a good starting price for insurance and bump it up as the years go by.

    39-2 jamming!

Glad it sounds like it is up and running. I was going to recommend trying a different load. Something hotter or 124 grains...

Smith & Wesson 632-1 3" Carry Comp .327 Mag w/Crimson Trace Laser Stock

I'm hoping that with the interest that has been shown to 32 H&R with the UC revolvers, that Smith decides to make a 3" K frame 7 shot in 327... Or other explorations in 32 in general...

Help identify these marking on my 681

Could be any number of identifiers. Maybe (most likely IMO) a rack number for a former LE firearm. Or evidence tracking number. Or somebodies' personal preference to identify their firearms in case of theft or loss (last four of their SSN + an initial...). This is a fairly common question...

    Belt Slides With Magazine Pouch

Ok, while I agree with you in practice since I don't use these holsters, have you ever tried a dominant hand only reload? When I did it was a little challenging.

Found a couple Gems this weekend. New Pictures 3-6

I saw that 39-2 online and was tempted to make the hour drive up there but didn't take the time. Good catch on both!!

    Belt Slides With Magazine Pouch

I don't personally use them, but I've seen them over the years. I attended a Carbine course with Super Dave Harrington in 2009 IIRC in which he made the comment that if you take a hit to your support hand where most people carry their spare mags, it would be easier to make that reload with the...

Let's see your Law Enforcement Marked Smiths!

Agreed on the likelihood of it being an evidence number. As bad as the stamping aesthetics represent, at least it isn't an engraver pen.

    Speaking of a 5906

I used to own a 669 that had the frame develop a crack through the rail at the slide stop hole. Smith replaced it as a "factory defect" (their words) when I explained to them the situation and acknowledged that I was not the original owner. Customer service said no promises, but send it in to...

    5926 Opinions?

I have only owned traditional DA/SA Smith and Wesson autos (currently a 4516 and a 4013 TSW. Used to have a 669-unfortunately sold it). I would love to find just about any DAO model and one with the SIG like decocker someday. I would jump on that. It's a great deal IMO.

Issues with new J-frame vs older ones.

My 638 is one year old. Having seen the reports of sketchy QC on this forum in particular, I carefully inspected it upon arrival to my FFL and found nothing of concern. It was purchased through GB. In particular, I was a little leery about pictures of used 638s that showed a significant scratch...

    S&W Rebates

Thanks for the info. Hadn't seen this. I bought a new J frame last year and it took a few weeks to get the rebate back. All in all, I was happy with the transaction. Not too cumbersome of a process at all. I just don't have anything new that's on my radar... ...but that could easily change...

My 64-3 is my only one and just a joy to shoot. Balance is just something you have to experience to understand how nice 3" barrels are.

TT Gunleather HRSR Holster for 66-1

Yes it does for me. No tipping out of the grip, just right to conceal under an untucked shirt. I have several other holsters, 2" K frame, J frame, 4516 that I chose the convertible OWB/IWB that is an awesome design as well.

TT Gunleather HRSR Holster for 66-1

I have had my new holster for a few months now and have been very pleased with it. It is comfortable, conceals well, fast to draw from-the height and cant works well for me, holds securely and just flat out looks great. I have holsters from Sparks, Kramer, Garrity, Ritchie, Rosen, Privateer...
